Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary; and loved the pampering by our host “Kharak Singh”. Each item on the menu was unique yet simple. We ordered Kashundi paneer, aloo tikki and goat shami kebab; each item had special flavors that simply burst on your mouth. The main course was a Nalli biryani with Jamvar daal and Sindhi ghost; again mouth watering. Lovely experience in a soft, warm and elegantly done up ambience.

Did not live up to our high expectations unfortunately Lacked atmosphere however downstairs was buzzing Service was good enough but food disappointed Lamb chops were sensational but Very expensive at approx £50 for three Prawn and chicken main course dishes were pretty ordinary It was an ok meal when we were expecting so much more

My wife and I visited Jamavar to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary. We reserved our table via OpenTable and were promptly given a table on arrival. For drinks, we selected a mocktail (Lychee cooler) and a cocktail (Coconut Water Mezcal Spritz). Both were excellent and actually I went for a second round of cocktail. We opted to go for the 3 course meal and select between us the following: Malabar Prawn Samosa Mutter Chat Malai Stone Bass Tikka Tulsi Chicken Tikka Baingan Chettinad Old Delhi Butter Chicken And finally finished it with a Trio of Kulfi from the a la carte menu. We really enjoyed the food and the attention given to us by the staff (Especially Angela, who served us) Highly recommended for an exquisite dining experience. We will certainly visit to try out the other dishes in the near future

The food at this restaurant is excellent. The wine list is ok, quite varied and has some decent priced wines too which is important. Disappointing final interaction was when we left the restaurant and the two people at the front entry both ignored our group of four (who had just spent £400+), did not say 'thank you' or 'goodbye' and failed to get the exit door. Not the level of service to match the food.

Delightful experience at Jamavar. Would highly recommend it to any discerning connoisseur of Indian culinary delights. Timely service, a warm welcome and a suitable overall ambience. Old Delhi butter chicken and the Stone Bass malai tikka were the standout dishes for me.

When we arrived, we were seated at a big booth table downstairs, even though it was just the two of us and there seemed to be plenty of seating upstairs. The service felt a bit awkward, and we waited quite a while for our drinks to arrive. The food was nice enough, but for the price and location, the overall experience was underwhelming. I’d been looking forward to trying this one, so it was a bit disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.
