Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

Here, exceptional pan-Indian dishes are thoughtfully prepared by Culinary Director and Executive Chef Surender Mohan using the freshest British produce and most authentic Indian cooking techniques.     The food was good but not great. Ordered goat shammi kebabs, palak paneer, butter chicken, assorted bread basket and pistachio milk cake. I wouldn’t say the restaurant meets up the hype. Solid 3.5.

    Took four friends out to dinner; were seated underground not in the beautiful upstairs dining room. That would be fine but downstairs was so loud we could barely hear each other speak. Moreover, the ceilings are low and the room isn’t good for acoustics. Service was perfunctory at best. I didn’t enjoy the experience at all and will certainly report this feedback to my many friends who come to me for dining advice in london - we registered complaints with manager and the despite that, experience was not improved

    The food was pretty good but the service was very disappointing in the main. Our server seemed disinterested, didn’t offer up the tasting menu as an option until asked and then dropped a random paper bag of leftovers on our banquette before walking off. We then mentioned it to her. She picked it back without saying a word and walked off. It was all a little bit off to be honest. The front of house was good which balanced the rating out. Also we kept being told that the table needed to be cleared by 9 which we knew. However, it was strange that the two tables for 2 next to us remained completely free even after we left. So I don’t understand why we were being hurried along in such a brusque fashion. We won’t be returning.

    Simply the best Indian food in London. Food is on a different level. Lamb chops are a strong recommend. Will be back soon for sure!

    Excellent personal service. Food presentation and information on dishes was good. The sauces and curries ordered were too spicy which overpowered the taste of the main ingredients. The dining area was too loud and noisy with tables set too close to each other.

    Quality of food wasn’t up to mark - lamb biryani was undercooked. There were kids playing loud nursery rhymes next to our table - service was poor and slow - we didn’t get spoons to eat the main course with. Overall would not recommend

    The food was okay and normal fare. The spinach curry and panner curry was salty and could have been easily monitored and avoided if checked. The service was good, the cocktails were nice. Rasmalai dessert we had was too complex and the base crispy piece was burnt and did not gel well with the rest of the dessert. In my opinion, the rasmalai didn’t need this much complexity.
