Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

Here, exceptional pan-Indian dishes are thoughtfully prepared by Culinary Director and Executive Chef Surender Mohan using the freshest British produce and most authentic Indian cooking techniques. In 2022, Jamavar London was awarded a Michelin star in The Great Britain & Ireland Michelin Guide for its high-quality cooking and holistic approach to Indian cuisine.

There was tables up availible receptionist insisted to sit us down although there was for 3 up

Food was average and wasn’t outstanding as you would expect for the price and Michelin star. Nice environment but everything needs to be to a higher standard to justify price.

There is nothing more to say than this was the best meal experience I have had in at least 20 years. Absolute perfection!

We were rushed to finish the meal by 8.15pm right from 6.45pm onwards!!! Very very pushy staff and just interested in turning the table over!

Service and food not worth the hype or Michelin stars. Food is like any good Indian restaurant and can be had at a fraction of the cost here. Butter chicken served within minutes - tasted like served from a pre-prepared large pot - not bad but most definitely not worth the 36 pounds. The service provided does not justify the huge mark up either. Would not return nor recommend.

Rude staff! Terrible service, poor ambiance as we were sat in the walkway of the basement for such an expensive meal. Food was decent but totally overpriced given poor experience

Delicious food with wonderful service. Lamb Chops were off the scale !!!!!

I had asked for a small cake to celebrate our special day , instead I got a call from the restaurant stating they do not have cakes but if we order some sweet dish they will get a candle along. Though we ordered the sweet there was no sign of candle or even a wish from the staff to make it special for us . Very disappointing .

Great food and atmosphere. We booked a table for 6 at 1945 but were being ushered out of the restaurant at circa 930 because they had another booking. It’s a shame this wasn’t made clear when we booked.

Jamaval is one the restaurants that generated positive publicity, thanks to Michelin guide and good quality food. The overall change in British post-Brexit society also left its toll on Jamaval. Yes, food is well executed. Is it exciting ? Not for those who are familiar with world-cuisines and cook themselves. Service is giving their best but again, post Brexit and post pandemic Britain is a landscape of good intentions without experience. This is felt even more in restaurants with a higher price tag. Pleasantness is present, but professional know-how not. The ambience is a mirror of Mount Street of today. Inside, whole families sit in their puffer jackets, hats on their heads, whilst everyone is scrolling down and down the rabbit hole of social media. Food is gobbled down rather than enjoyed through means of table manners. "Fancy McDonald's", came to mind when entering the etablissement. I am not addressing the ratio between portions and prices as Mount street in 2024 feels like different continent and the prices are a clear reflection of this. Hence the price range is a given. All in all, the original idea is great, however the experience for me, who does not sit in a puffer jacket in a Michelin star restaurant and needs TikTok for starter, main course and desert is not the right one.
