Michelin-starred Jamavar London, located on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street is celebrated for its gracious hospitality, inviting atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings inspired by the Viceroy’s House in New Delhi, the acclaimed restaurant is a rendition of a palatial Indian dining experience in the heart of Mayfair.

Here, exceptional pan-Indian dishes are thoughtfully prepared by Culinary Director and Executive Chef Surender Mohan using the freshest British produce and most authentic Indian cooking techniques. In 2022, Jamavar London was awarded a Michelin star in The Great Britain & Ireland Michelin Guide for its high-quality cooking and holistic approach to Indian cuisine.

    The service was amazing! Food was great! We ordered the chicken butter, tandoori, yogurt which was absolutely delicious & samosa. The butter naan bread could be better tho, it was hard.

    The food was tremendous and lived up to expectations, but our server was very judgy and immediately gave an off putting “I’m better than you” type vibe. We were visiting from the US and looked my mom up and down and scoffed when she ordered a coke. Also our waiter was slow at bringing out drinks or coming back to our table after giving my mom the tea menu. Overall food was amazing, but pricey, and the service was poor.

    Excited to celebrate my wife’s 60th birthday, I was left very disappointed with the experience. Rarely have I left poor reviews, but so incensed at the poor experience at Jamavar , I have on this occasion. I had made a reservation 3 weeks prior and requested a circular table for 5 people and in fairness reservations did say it could not be guaranteed. I also advised them it was my wife’s 60th birthday. On arrival, we were led downstairs to the basement to a table that was cramped and in the corner making for a very uncomfortable experience. Apparently, that was the only table that was available and very claustrophobic. The interior décor was not representative of the web site pictures. We were given menus with no reference to the fact a tasting menu was available. I asked and the waiter kindly provided. Whilst moments of brilliance in the courses that had been freshly cooked, the majority were clearly prepared some time in advance and most certainly not worthy of a Michelin star or anything close. Service was average, but again not what one would expect for a Michelin star restaurant. Clearly no communication from the reservation team to the staff and no reference to my wife’s 60th birthday. Unfortunately, my wife now remembers her 60th birthday for all the wrong reasons.

    The food was good but not great. Ordered goat shammi kebabs, palak paneer, butter chicken, assorted bread basket and pistachio milk cake. I wouldn’t say the restaurant meets up the hype. Solid 3.5.

    Took four friends out to dinner; were seated underground not in the beautiful upstairs dining room. That would be fine but downstairs was so loud we could barely hear each other speak. Moreover, the ceilings are low and the room isn’t good for acoustics. Service was perfunctory at best. I didn’t enjoy the experience at all and will certainly report this feedback to my many friends who come to me for dining advice in london - we registered complaints with manager and the despite that, experience was not improved
