A favorite for lunch or dinner, Jaleo never disappoints! Chef Andrés has created a wonderful environment reflective if his amazing heart.

I love the Jose Andres restaurant group but have been consistently disappointed by Jaleo over the last couple of years. The food is “fine”, but not as good as it used to be. I don’t think the quality is worth the price. The service has been inconsistent. I had brunch a couple months ago with attentive staff. Last night we had to ask for forgotten orders to be delivered, for a glass to be brought for a late arriving friend as we waited to toast, to have our table cleared 4 times…it was not good. The manager was quick to listen to our concerns, which I want to acknowledge. But as a fan of this restaurant group, I would love to see Jaleo return to the status it once held that is still maintained by its sister restaurants.

Fabulous food and flavors. Noise level enough to be entertaining, but did not drown out our conversation. Wonderful, coordinated service. Excellent experience overall!

Absolutely wonderful dinner at Jaleo in Washington, DC. The tapas are magnificent - they are all excellent. We always start with the Patatas Bravas. The Conos de Atun are creative, fun and delicious. Note that the tables in the back of the restaurant are quieter than the ones in the front of the restaurant. Our server Karol was terrific. Try your own taste test between the Tempranillo and the Tempranillo blend to decide for yourself which you prefer!

We were super excited for paella month which started on 9/16/24. The lamb shank paella didn’t disappoint in terms of taste and texture (yummy crunchy bits of rice that caramelized in the pan) and the mushrooms and snow peas were a nice addition. Although there was relatively little lamb, it flavored the dish thoroughly. We also ordered small plates of asparagus, apple/fennel salad, fried potatoes and stuffed piquillo peppers. I wish I could be more enthusiastic but we left sort of disappointed because some of those appetizers were just ok, and some portions - including the paella and the wine by the glass - are so small, even for tapas. The fennel salad was “eh”; the thing that saved the potatoes was the spicier sauce (the aioli lacked flavor/even a hint of garlic). The piquillo peppers were fabulous but there were only 2 and they are very small. Had we known the paella was (also) not full sized but “4-6” (really 4) TAPAS-sized servings it would have been helpful in terms of managing expectations (our SIL has a good appetite and he didn’t get enough to eat). This should be advertised as such: “paella yields 4-5 tapas-sized servings.” So yeah. Tasty paella and peppers, delicious Tempranillo (but a very light pour), but the rest felt sort of scaled back or underwhelming and a little bit cheap.

We had the classic tasting menu which allowed us to try a delicious variety of dishes. Our server was terrific. Sat outside and enjoyed sharing menu tips with fellow diners. A wonderful meal and evening!

The food and service are outstanding. The gazpacho is a must. Sorbet needs to be served in a chilled dish. Jaleo’s understands customer service!
