Order your King Cake today! "El Dia de los Reyes Magos" is a traditional Spanish holiday celebrated with one of the most delicious treats you'll ever taste. At Jaleo DC, we're selling full Roscón de Reyes (King Cakes) for you to enjoy at home (or at the restaurant!). This brioche-like cake is shaped into a ring like the Three Kings' crowns, and decorated with dried fruit, nuts and sugar. Each cake holds a hidden bean and king figure. As tradition goes, if you find the bean, you have to buy the cake next year, but if you find the king, you'll have good luck for the whole year! A maximum of one extra cake can be added to your reservation for an additional $65. Get yours before they run out!

Still as good as we remembered it from years ago. Great place to go if you are at the Shakespeare Theatre.

Restaurant is not very busy at 12 pm on a Saturday, but fills fast. Lots of tasty tapas to share and service is impeccable! We love coming before a matinee at the theater

We got the Jaleo experience tasting menu. It was excellent, and more food than we were expecting. Definitely worth the price! It was somewhat loud and we had trouble hearing the wait staff at times, but otherwise we would definitely do this again!

The Iberico fritters were way too rich (lots of cheese, tiny bit of meat) and while I initially loved the fennel walnut and manchego salad, it was not only overdressed but had too much manchego However the gazpacho and the scallops were divine as was the Iberico plate.

Very crowded; glad to have had a reservation. Server was a joyful person and livened up the experience. Food was excellent to good, but size for tapas was way too large. After just 3 items, both I and my companion were uncomfortably full. No, we neither ordered not ate any of the larger offerings on the menu. From where I was seated at a two-top nearly at the "back" wall (where the restroom access is) I was regularly made uncomfortable by blasts of cold air from the entrance doorways. (Other restaurants in Penn Quarter have heater blast fans that work instantly to counter the vestibule cold air from both doors being opened at the same time by "thoughtful" guests entering and leaving during cold weather nights. A reliable excellent restaurant by the master, Jose Andres! No matter what, you will have a wonderful meal.

Service: We were asked what we wanted without being given a menu. The waiter should be aware of the needs of the guests, we had over eight empty plates on the table at some point and took them over 15 minutes to take them off the table. Food: This is the 12th time we’ve been in this restaurant, paella and rossejat dishes are very decent. However, everything else on the menu are very small portions in relation to the price. The lubina seemed to have been topped with used oil. As an Spaniard, this place could use some improvements to make the experience more realistic and pleasant.
