We had a 5pm reservation hoping to get in and out before it became to noisy. We were partially sucessful. I love all of the Jose restaurants but they do get awfully noisy. All else was good.

They brought the food out in a crazy order. The raw oysters came last, after the hot food. The oysters should have come first. Everything came out in a weird order.

We went as a group of 5. Tried mostly old favorites. The one new dish was the Conejo en salmorejo con puré de albaricoques, the rabbit with apricot purée. It was excellent, and a very substantial serving. We were sorry to see the bacon-wrapped dates off the menu, at least temporarily. The Endibias con queso de cabra y naranjas in recent visits seem to have less crumbles cheese and smaller pieces of almond. We preferred the older version. The Gambas al ajillo was particularly good, loaded with garlic; we had three servings. We needed to expand our original reservation for three to add two more people, and were pleased they were able to accommodate us by seating us at a foosball table. And as always, the restaurant is very noisy. It makes conversation difficult, especially disappointing for this visit when we were meeting an old friend's new husband for the first time. Service was very good on a crowded evening.

We loved the buzzy atmosphere, and were amazed at the terrific service despite the size of the place (and how packed it was.) We ordered the tortilla española (excellent), escalivada (not the best), a sautéed spinach small plate (excellent), and the pork-based paella (very good). We'd definitely go again to try some more of the menu.

Decent food, but not as good as the food you find in the restaurant JA has in Bethesda. They ran out of the paella special they had for Spain’s national day. We also had to asked the server to bring us the complimentary tapa they had for reservations made in OpenTable. The meat came almost cold to the table. We requested outdoor dining and they sat us in an area the was covered and glassed, so we could not enjoy the nice weather for a 12 of October. The service was not up to what you’d expect for a restaurant of its kind. Not sure we will come back
