Excellent food and service. Ambience was ok. With a couple of drinks and appetizers, you can expect to spend $70-90 per person. Overall, great experience.

We reserved a table in advance at Jaks Modern Indian Cuisine in Santa Clara and were seated on time. For our appetizer, we tried the Kairi Prawn Takku, which was juicy and paired perfectly with the aioli. Moving on to the main course, we ordered the Murgh (Chicken) Biryani, which was bursting with flavor from the spices, and the chicken was tender and well-cooked. We also had the Ajwani chili parotta and basil garlic parotta alongside the Kodagu (Lamb curry), which wasn’t overly spicy, and every flavor was well-balanced. The service was prompt, and the ambiance was great, with the place packed on a Friday night—so I highly recommend making a reservation. They also have a large selection of beers and cocktails. Would definitely come again!

I come here every time I’m in town and have recommended Jaks to many friends and customers. The food is delicious, but today the server was just awful, it was 50 minutes before we got the appetizer and an hour before we got our entrees ( I think he totally forgot to put in our order), then when we asked where our food was he said it was coming as we watched people who sat much later than us get their food. The food was so late, that we were late for our next customer meeting. I would have just left, but we were there with a customer and we were all hungry! There was no apology, nothing ☹️. I’m not mad, just very disappointed

We loved this place! We are big fans of Yellow Chili by Sanjeev Kapoor in Santa Clara for its excellent food and ambiance, though it can be a bit pricey and more suited for special occasions. My 10-year-old is always eager to visit. In search of an alternative, we discovered Jak’s, and it didn’t disappoint. One of the things we loved about Jak’s is their enclosed outdoor seating area, which allowed us to have our dog sit next to us—a perk we can’t enjoy at Yellow Chili’s. While my daughter found the food a bit spicy and we missed having naan on the menu, we were all impressed by the fabulous presentation and attentive service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Excellent food presentation, unique tastes and flavors. Very slow service. And portions should be slightly larger for the price points. Overall a great upscale indian food restaurant and I hope some improvements could be made with staffing the kitchen more and increasing portion sizes.

We had an amazing experience at JAKS, which we discovered through OpenTable. I can't believe we hadn't heard about this restaurant for over a year and a half! During our visit, we met Manager Roy, who was very helpful during lunchtime. He gave us an overview of the restaurant, and it was really impressive to learn that they’ve been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and San Mercury. It’s surprising we never knew about this place before. The food at JAKS is absolutely phenomenal, offering fresh cuisine with unique recipes that you don’t find elsewhere in the area. Yes, you can find curry everywhere, but not the kind of fresh and unique flavors you’ll experience here. Chef Prakash, who has 18 years of experience at ITC Sheraton, creates dishes that are truly impressive. As a big fan of Bukhara in Delhi from the ITC group, I have to say, the Dal Makhani here tasted just like it—no kidding, it’s true. JAKS has an incredible menu that most people don’t know about. I’m from Palo Alto, and we dine out a lot, but this restaurant is something special. It offers an authentic Indian culinary explosion to the community. Dishes like Banarasi Paan Chaat, Pani Batasha, Peshawari Tikka, Pistachio Burra Chaap, Goan Jugalbandi Lobster, Awadhi Lamb Shank, Butter Chicken, Basil Paratha, and Rose Kulfi were all seriously good, with excellent presentation. I couldn’t try their cocktails and beer selection that day because of a health issue, but I’m definitely coming back to enjoy them with my team. The place was packed, and we were very surprised by the quality of the food and the ambiance. We’ll be back soon. Good luck, JAKS, and thank you, OpenTable, for the great recommendation!
