The menu, spearheaded by Executive Chef Giovanni Vella and Chef Matthew Bell of celebrated eatery BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, showcases the unique culinary flare of Italy with dishes focused on fresh, seasonal ingredients, and specialty cured meats. Unlike its sister concept, BEVO – known for its authentic wood-burning pizza oven, Jacopo offers guests homemade pasta, fresh vegetables, roasted meats in a stone oven, roman lamb, and much more.. Diners can also enjoy freshly baked in-house focaccia bread and homemade charcuterie and salumi, cured on display in a controlled drying chamber. It doesn’t get more authentic than this!

Service impeccable, notre serveuse était très professionnelle et d’une gentillesse remarquable. La bouffe très très bonne. Chez Jacopo un simple rigatoni devient un plat divin et tellement bon! Communication facile pour réservation et changement pour l’heure d’arrivée.

I encountered a significant issue during my recent visit to Jacopo, which was marred by an unexpected sight. As a native of the United States, I had a positive experience on my first visit, and I invited friends to celebrate my birthday there. I even reached out to the restaurant to inform them about the occasion and express my excitement about sharing my birthday at their establishment for the second time in three years. Upon our arrival, we waited briefly for our table and were seated next to the open kitchen. While the service was initially slow due to the restaurant’s busyness, I understood the delay. However, towards the end of our meal, I noticed a substantial number of mouse droppings on the ledge that leads to the open window of the kitchen where the food is prepared. Disappointed by the sight, I rose from my seat and moved away from the area. I informed the waitress about the presence of the droppings, and she inquired if I had observed a mouse. I clarified that I had only seen the droppings, and she responded with a sigh of relief, exclaiming, “Whew, at least no mouse!” This response left me perplexed and disappointed. The waitress failed to acknowledge the inconvenience caused by the unsanitary conditions and did not apologize for the lack of cleaning efforts. The nonchalance with which she handled the situation was particularly concerning, as it appears to be a common occurrence at the restaurant. As a result of this incident, I am unable to fully appreciate the food I ordered. The memory of the mouse droppings lingers in my mind, overshadowing the dining experience. While I understand that restaurants may encounter occasional issues, I believe they have a responsibility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for their patrons. Unfortunately, my positive experience on my first visit was tainted by this unfortunate incident, leaving a negative impression on my friends who had joined me for the celebration.

The ambiance was nice, and our server was friendly and very attentive. We were a group of four, our overall experience was good. We ordered from the MTL a table menu, the lobster arancini were amazing, as was the rigatoni with butternut squash cream. The amatriciana spaghetti lacked flavour and did not really look or taste like amatriciana, more like a chunky tomatoe sauce. The tiramisu was good as was the almond torte. It was reasonably priced, although we felt like the regular coffee could have been included. The only thing that almost ruined our experience (which the server quickly fixed) was as soon as we were finished eating and our plates were removed, our desserts were brought to our table, even though we had not finished our wine, nor did our server ask us if we wanted our dessert or coffee. We explained that we we were not ready for dessert and were told to just let the server know when we wer ready, but 15 minutes later, again, dessert was brought to our table. The server was not aware of the situation, when we informed her, and asked why, she did not know why, as we felt we were being rushed out. She did come back and apolgized for the mix up and offered us free coffee, and told us to take our time.
