JaBistro is a Japanese restaurant that is located in downtown Toronto, mere blocks away from Roy Thompson Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. The modern and sleek restaurant offers indoor as well as outdoor seating in the late spring and summer months. JaBistro is a contemporary space that is decorated with brick accent walls, booth style seating, sophisticated dim lighting and an oversized bar.

                                                                  For a high end restaurant, the food felt closer to average with the exception of the O-toro dish. Highly over priced, service felt super rushed, and I will not be returning. There are much better high end sushi spots that I favour instead

                                                                  BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Omakase experience was terrible and disappointing as this restaurant did so much better in the past. Nothing was served fresh or to order even tho I specifically chose to sit at the sushi counter. All dishes felt like it was pre-made and served to you but nothing served in front of you like an actual omakase dinner. There are many other restaurants that are doing better than this place. The quality has dropped over thr years.

                                                                  Ambience and service was great. We ordered the ozisushi and the jabistroll roll. It was overly salty and the jabistroll roll tastes very different than how it used to years ago. It is now overwhelmingly salty and covers the flavours of the crab. Would not recommend the ebi shrimp ozisushi. The salmon is okay but I personally think that it needs more salmon or they should insert another layer of salmon in between the rice. Given how large the chunk of rice is.

                                                                  Fantastic dinner, we tried both ala-cart and prefixed, fresh lobster sashimi is a knockout, and the prefixed is wonderfully balanced and plentiful. New waiter, Sofia, was super, obviously they know how to pick and train. Probably the best Japanese experience in the city. Thank you all who made it possible!

                                                                  For me it was super overpriced, and the food was not that good. This is the first time when I pay $75 after tips for a dinner and feeling half-full when I walk out. I ended up going to a second restaurant just to get full. I could have ordered more food at Jabistro but I didn’t want to pay a $200 bill for some mediocre food.
