J Carver's Oyster Bar & Chophouse features market fresh oysters & premium wood grilled steaks. Nestled in West 6th District of Downtown Austin, John Carver, Owner and Chef delivers an elevated classic fine dining experience featuring a gorgeous raw & oyster bar and intimate dining experience.

In order to honor all reservations booked, we ask that all bookings adhere to our suggested dining time frame. Please contact our reservationist if you have additional questions. Our time frames are as follows
2 people - 2 hours
3 people - 2 hr 15 minutes
4-5 people - 2 hr 30 minutes
6-7 people - 2hr 45 minutes
8+ people - 3 hours

Please reach out to our reservationist for private dining.

Fabulous dinner as always! It was a great new experience sitting at the bar. My only note is that we ordered the bone in fillet and unfortunately it was cut in the kitchen before serving and our steak was cold when we got it :( still tastes great!

Best steakhouse I’ve eaten in in a long time. All menu items off the chain. Service incredible. Cool atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent ! Amazing food and ambiance . They listened to my request to make it special for an employee celebrating her 39th anniversary . They had a nicely prepared personal note on the table for her when we arrived. Class act from beginning to end .

The service was amazing, the drinks, my wife’s meal was also top notch. However, my Lobster Risotto was extremely off. I would not recommend that dish to anyone
