Great food! Loved the crab, avocado salad; the miso butterfish, the varied sashimi plate, the different sushi rolls as well as the wafu beef. My guests enjoyed the desserts — zensai and the strawberry shave ice with ice cream. Ambiance-wise, it was a tad loud as we were in the open room upstairs — but it's "an izakaya" and that's understandable! My out-of-town guests and family members enjoyed the food! Thank you!

Noisy and fun, Izakaya Nonbei is my favorite destination for excellent sushi/yakitori/soba in Honolulu!! Service is attentive and very friendly! This place has been a go-to spot for me over the last 4 years! Highly recommend🌟

The staff were very friendly. They worked quietly and efficiently. Service was excellent. We ordered and ate family style (total of 7 people). The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the wafu steak, crab/avocado salad, tempura platter, agedashi tofu, Karei karate, sushi sampler and a couple of sushi rolls. Enjoyed every bite! Highly recommend this place. Also, happy hour at 5-6 pm looks like a great way to start!

The food was decent. We had the Karei Karaage (deep-fried flounder) and Misoyaki Butterfish. Service was excellent. If you go, highly recommend the Yuzu Sorbet.

If you are looking for a comfortable, tasty izakaya experience in Honolulu, look no further. The food was delicious and the atmosphere family-friendly. Our servers made some great recommendations for us for food selections and a sake to go with it. Highly recommend.
