We offer you freshest Sashimi, Sushi and various chef Specials in Japanese cuisine along with selected Sake, Shochu and wines to complete your meal. Izakaya Matsuri is located in the center of town- on Young St. with lots of free parking for our customers.
(*We do not provide highchairs, or baby seats for children since we are Japanese - Izakaya style restaurant which is mainly for adults.)
* Please, aware that your reservation may be cancelled if you do not confirm your reservation, please cancel your reservation within 12 hours prior to your reservation,
or you will be subject to charge the cancellation fee per person $30.

    This is our favorite Japanese restaurant! It’s a little pricey but worth it for the delicious food and excellent quality.

    Full range of Ikazaya cuisine plus some inventions like tofu with Ikura / Uni and sake ice cream. Wide range of sake and Japanese beers.

    Our party of 3 had to wait 20 minutes because an earlier large party of 8 overstayed their time frame. A special $60 fried fish was very small & full of bones that were inedible because it was under cooked and not crunchy.

    We were able to make a last minute reservation here on a Friday night. We had ordered from them before thru DoorDash and I like their chirashi bowls the most of anywhere I’ve tried because they have everything I want, so wanted to eat there in person. Although some of the parking stalls are a little challenging to get out of, the food is definitely worth it. All of the fish is high quality and tasty. The beef tongue and edamame were also really flavorful. We enjoyed everything we ordered and would like to return so we can try more.

    Excellent sushi, great service, really cute quaint restaurant, nice ambiance. Best uni ever! Will definitely have to go back to try the crab.

    It’s a small place located in a quiet neighborhood with surprisingly high quality seasonal delicacies from Japan on top of all the delicious Izakaya dishes. We loved the crab, the grill fish and the unagi. If you have a good dinner budget, you should definitely try them. They were better than we had in Japan. I also had omakase sushi and the quality, flavor, presentation and variety were definitely the best I had in Hawaii so far. We loved it!

    The fish offered on the omekase sashimi dish was very fresh. We will definitely order the live Hokkaido crab the next time we go there. We ordered the Kabota Manju sake and it was very good (at $160 for a 720 ml bottle). This particular sake is exclusively served in restaurants. We will be back for the next special occasion.
