Italian by Night is an urban Italian restaurant and bar with a cuisine focused on old world techniques in a modern kitchen.

A romantic Italian restaurant in Uptown Saint John with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a mix of rustic exposed brick and wood beams, as well as elegant touches like linen tablecloths, fresh flowers and candles on the tables.

The menu offers a wide variety of Italian dishes, ranging from classic favorites like pizza and pasta to more upscale options like seafood, steaks, and excellent wine list. We use fresh ingredients, with a focus on high-quality flavors and presentation.

We offer corporate and wedding buyouts in a gorgeous venue with ample seating and layout, excellent food, attentive service, and a memorable atmosphere that is perfect for any special occasion. A personalized menu and experience will reflect your unique tastes and preferences.

We offer a private dining room for smaller groups.

We are happy to work with our clients for both small or large private events at Italian by NIght. We offer restaurant 'buy-out' packages as well as smaller group event menus. Our beautiful open space concept can host up to 183 guests in a stand-up cocktail reception format or 120 guests for a seated dining experience. Hosting corporate, wedding or family events is our expertise. We welcome all inquiries.

The noise level we found was high for an intimate experience…maybe small walls would be a great addition to help with the noise

This was my wife and I’d first experience with Italian by Night. We were celebrating our anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place. Food, service, atmosphere - all fantastic! We will be back!

We had a dinner date. We ordered calamari and bruschetta for appetizers, chicken parmigiana and seafood pasta for main, and chocolate torta for dessert. The food was excellent, our server was engaging and very attentive. The dinner was great experience for the noise level. It was a bit noisy so we were unable to hear each other on occasion. This is still my favourite restaurant in the city by far.

Me and my Partner came to Saint John from out of town to celebrate our anniversary. We were told this was a great place to go. Our reservation was set for 8:45 allowing 15 min grace period . Upon getting the reservation it said we had 1 hour and 45 minutes to dine. It also asked if we were celebrating, which I said we were celebrating our anniversary. (All this was done on the app). Upon arrival everything was good. We were sat on time and ordered a bottle of wine and a starter. Wine and app were amazing. My partner then wasn’t sure what she wanted yet. And didn’t ask for her main yet. Mind you our reservation is at 8:45 and it wasn’t even 9:00 yet. The waitress then began to rush us and say “we like to close the kitchen by 9” .. feeling very rushed on our nice dinner out , my partner chose something. Food came out and thank god it was delicious! Good thing excuse we never seen our server again. No “how is everything” , or water to top off our water glasses. We then ordered desert and it was amazing aswell. It was time to wrap up our dinner as we just finished our desert. My partner went to was there hands before we left. I heard the server while cleaning up another table say; “yup that’s my table” out loud so I could hear. Mind you there’s only me left in the dining room and it’s not even 10:15. I felt very uncomfortable. Texted my partner and we paid and left. All in all the food was absolutely amazing! I normally wouldn’t be back after having service like this but the food was so good I’ll definitely be back. Hopefully just with a different server. Also .. never was giving my servers name.. water was on our table , never got wiped down. And never got asked about our anniversary once. Weird to ask and then not give a care.

Everything was wonderful just very noisy and couldn’t have a good conversation. You had to talk loud to be heard.

We went out for a nice quiet dinner for two before the harvest Moon bizarre. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Food was delicious, the service by the wait staff - Devon was as well Outstanding- he was attentive and paid attention to our needs.
