iSLAS means Islands, a Filipino restaurant located in Parkdale, Toronto. The name “iSLAS” represents the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Filipino cuisine is a blend of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, and indigenous influences. The flavors are a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Vinegar is a common ingredient, and dishes like Adobo are popular. Rice is a staple and is served with various meat, fish, stew, soup, and vegetable dishes. Filipino meals are communal and informal, and traditional meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meriénda (afternoon snack). While utensils like forks, knives, and spoons are used, the primary utensils at a Filipino dining table are the spoon and fork. Eating with hands, known as “kamayan,” is also a traditional practice. iSLAS aims to introduce Filipino cuisine and hospitality to Toronto, and invites guests to embark on a culinary adventure to savor the diverse and flavorful Filipino dishes.

    We came here yesterday and we had a great time. We had the Oyster and the Boodelitwo with some Red Horse beer a couple of cocktail drinks! Delicious food, nice ambiance and impeccable service. We’ll be back!

    First time here, and definitely plan to come back for special occasions. Presentation of the place and the food (we ordered the kamayan feast) were beautiful, and also perfectly fed three people easily. Decor is lovely and washrooms are kept pretty clean. I did take a star off service because there was slight confusion on where we were supposed to be seated for the first three minutes when we arrived. It also took some time for one of the servers to give us the bill when we were all done. Overall though, this place is great. I'd definitely come back.

    Went here to celebrate Mother's Day. My mom is from the Philippines and it was so nice to eat familiar foods from where she grew up. Staff was lovely and patient (we had a guest with dietary restrictions) and they were also very familiar. Treated like friends and family. The location is perfect with parking just outside. Lighting was not too dark or too bright, the noise level was relaxing, good vibes. Will return!

    A group of friends taking the non-filipinos among us out to a Filipino restaurant for the first time ever. We ordered a bunch and ate family style, although all of us could've ordered one kare-kare plate each, it was that good. Overall, food and drinks were excellent, atmosphere was cool and casual, service was great, would most definitely go back.

    We ordered the kamayan boodle for two and there was definitely more than enough for 3 or more, depending on how hungry you are! Delicious food, great ambience, good service. A perfect place for family gatherings. A place to bring non-Filipino friends to sample Filipino cuisine in a nice setting.

    Everything was excellent from start to finish! I would just change the music selection to something else! The food and service were excellent and the drinks delicious!

    Amazing Filipino restaurant. Their dishes are classic Filipino dishes and but upscale. They definitely taste like the ones from the Philippines. There’s other restaurants in Toronto that say they serve upscale classic filipino but only this one is the that is able to pull it off. Would highly recommend
