    Nice ambience, pretty view. Wouldn’t go back for the food. I didn’t enjoy their bread, didn’t really like the cucumber water that was served, it was just ok. This would be perfect romantic date, just wouldn’t come for the food.

    We made reservations for 7:15pm, where we were seated at 7:30. The waiter was a great, the ahi poke was great, along with the lobster. The filet mignon was over cooked, the onion rings were undercooked. Although the seemed to be in such a hurry to take order and bring food, the quality of food seemed to be lacking for a total bill of close to $400.00 for 2 people. We are willing to pay if the service, quality and food is worth it. Island prime needs improvement including not seating on time with reservations and hostess should be cordial and kind and informative when seating guests with reservations and inform them they are running 15+ minutes late. …..☺️ This has yet to happen at Morton’s !

    Very disappointing meal to celebrate a friend's birthday. The window table looking out on the harbor was a nice start, and the bread was terrific. Unfortunately, it was also the best part of the meal. Three of us ordered Caesar salad, which was just a small head of Romaine lettuce cut in half, with a few croutons and a very un-caesarlike dressing, that actually detracted from the taste. Very overpriced for a minimal effort and presentation. For dinner, I had the shrimp linguini, which, at $45 was again way overpriced, as it came with three large shrimp, a small amount of linguini, and was in a sauce that was a mish-mash of flavors which not only didn't blend together, it had no particular taste, and was almost a distraction as such. We also had the ahi tuna stack, which was decent, and the brick chicken, also just okay. As the desserts were all priced at $15, we decided not to take a chance on wasting even more money, as our overall tab came to just under $200. We agreed that we would never return to Island Prime if that was the best they could offer.

    This is our third time visiting Island Prime, and likely our last. We were disappointed. The food was mediocre and the prices exorbitant. It’s like the dishes were more for show than for eating. The baked brie, for example, had too many ingredients that cancelled each other and drowned the flavor of the brie. The roast garlic was half cooked. The lettuce wedge salad was disappointing, too, consisting of mediocre lettuce with a dollop of indistinct stuff ladled on top. The subtle sea bass was plopped in a white bean gritty goo with little flavor. The asparagus were overcooked and stringy. On the other hand, the $75 ribeye was well cooked and tasty. This is our third visit to Island Prime, and the quality - if not the prices - have slipped.

    We had a group of nine and everyone was raving over their food. The service was excellent and they had a very good wine list as well. The setting was fantastic as you actually felt like you were sitting in the water. I will definitely go back when I’m in San Diego.
