A tale of two cities

Inspired by New York, 100 per cent Brum. Isaac's menu features American comfort food such as hot dogs, mac & cheese and cheesecake alongside brasserie classics including beef carpaccio, seafood platter and 30-day aged steaks. Dial things up for a blow-out occasion or dress down for casual dining: the choice is yours.

Our Chef, Adam Bateman has been knocking up New York sensations with us since we opened, and is proud to be a Brummy lad bringing the Big Apple buzz to our streets! Just across from Birmingham's famous Pigeon Park and a 10 minute walk to the gorgeous canals, we are the perfect place to grab a bite to eat when in Brum!

Service was outstanding - extremely friendly staff and very efficient made it a hugely enjoyable experience. The food was nicely done not exotic but well cooked & and beautifully presented. Pricing is reasonable and I would definitely go back there. Liked the decor too!

The decor and overall feel of the restaurant was great - the staff were friendly but very very slow - not very attentive - drinks took a long time we had to ask to order more which took 20 mins and had food without drinks - they also put the fresh drinks down eventually without removing the empty glasses The steak for the price was like the soul from a old boot

Had a lovely meal with friends at Isaac's. It was surprisingly quiet for a Friday evening, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Excellent, friendly service.

We've eaten here several times before and always enjoy it but this time wasn't quite as good as previous experience. Still very enjoyable but not perfect. Staff were wonderful, very helpful and friendly and we are very appreciative for them. Downsides were that one meal was incorrect - we were offered to have it rectified but we didn't have time to wait for a replacement as we had already waited a while for our meals and had a small child to entertain with limited patience. Also the child's meal was served boiling hot (we were warned not to touch the plate so after waiting for the food our child had to see his dinner but not be able to eat it for a while after. It seems common sense to serve children's food cooler or at least not in hot plates. Ambience was good but we would prefer quieter music to make conversation easier. Food was very tasty, drinks were excellent. We love the decor and style of the place and we will be back.

Had a lovely meal and staff were so lovely and nothing was too much for them as they served us. Didn’t feel rushed and we were the last to leave as felt so comfortable.

The restaurant walls and flooring are tiles, so it is loud. The menu is odd; not achieving the stated goal of invoking New York. The food is fine, service is spotty but polite. Our guests enjoyed their food, but it was hard to have a conversation.

First time at Issacs and it won't be the last. From arrival the staff were friendly and inviting and always on hand to answer questions. The food was tasty with generous portions. We will be back! Great Job Issacs!
