Iris is named for the celebrated Mediterranean flower, and as a gentle nod to the “Evil Eye”, a regional legend known to ward off evil and bring great luck. Located in an iconic building of Midtown Manhattan, Iris is a restaurant that aims to showcase the best preparations of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ambition behind this culinary initiative is to focus on the style of eating rather than the provenance of each dish. Approachable, wholesome and minimally manipulated, the cuisine will show another facet of the ingredient-forward cuisine that has built John Fraser’s reputation.

I haven’t had a 10/10 meal in a while. Every single thing was so delicious. Cute ambiance too.

The wait staff was very kind and helpful. The food was delicious. the only negative was trying to read the menu because of the lighting. Maybe the print on the menu should be bolder. But the hummus was the best I have ever had!

Ideally located near NY City Center and Carnegie Hall. Great for a pre theater dinner. We triedthe Restaurant week menu (with supplements). Waitstaff planned well so we would be finished with dinner in a timely manner.

This is undoubtedly one of the very best Greek restaurants in the city. The grilled branzino is superb, and the pita sandwiches are delicious and fun. The service is excellent, the place is nice, but during lunch it definitely had a very subdued vibe. It is probably different at night. Definitely recommend for delicious food.
