“Good Food and Bad Advice.” Such is the motto for this one-of-a-kind restaurant that’s in the planning stages as we go to press. Located beside Hot Fish Club on the southern end of Murrells Inlet, it’s owned and operated by the HFC family – but it’s a totally different experience. The menu is quirky, to say the least, with a focus on affordability – most items run between $4 and $12 – and fresh, locally sourced meats, seafood and produce whenever possible. The team is still working out the particulars, but the choices are definitely different and change frequently to keep things interesting.

Take time to explore and expect the unexpected from a restaurant where one of the items offered is described as “kinda weird, but tasty.” Lowcountry looks forward to this new venture from our friends at the Hot Fish Club. With a broad menu, pub-inspired atmosphere and an awesome atmosphere, the IPC is shaping up to be a mighty fun place to hang.

Unfortunately, my daughter and I ordered the flounder and grits special. The flounder was VERY fishy and we both felt ill instantly. We didn’t say anything to our waiter because it was Father’s Day and didn’t want to ruin my husband’s meal. We also ordered the grouper appetizer and it was so good! My husband enjoyed the crab legs and the clam chowder. When we got home I got sick again. The presentation of the dish was good but the flounder was definitely bad. We own a small business and I hate to leave a negative review.

Amber our server was very good, helpful and very friendly. The hostess girls also were sweet to my mom got her a chair as we waited. The food for the table was great everyone enjoyed their meal.

Our waitress was excellent! Very personable, friendly and informative. She was patient with us and was around when we needed her. Our meals were good, however, there were items no longer on the menu that we have enjoyed in the past like ribs, lobster Mac-n-cheese, chocolate pudding jar etc. The Mahi was good but it’s been better in the past, not sure why you changed it. The grit cake was better in the past not really a fan of it now. My husband loved the grouper tacos.

Nice view of the marshland. Got the lobster rolls. Would not recommend those. Server was not very attentive. It was decent, but I don’t know if we will be back.

Fried platter was soggy. Expected fresh crispy fried. Very small portions for the price of the platter. 5 shrimp, 5 oysters, 1 crab cake, and 1 very small piece of fish. The fish was smaller than the crab cake and it was a smaller crab cake.
