We will taste 6 traditional, small batches mezcal & tequila, most of them sourced directly from the producers, and pair with Mexican cheeses. Cheeses are perfect for enhancing the minerality and the complex flavors of mezcal. Mezcal will be from states such as Michoacán, Sonora, Guerrero & not exclusively from Oaxaca, and we will discuss how the different distillation processes, the terroir & the Maestro's experience shape the final spirit. We will learn how to drink mezcal and also how NOT to drink mezcal (orange slices are a NO!), what's the difference between tequila and mezcal, and will discuss why industrial mezcales are bad and why it's important to support the mezcal producers, the local communities and to preserve the biodiversity.

Came here for dinner with friends on our first night in Tulum. The food and drinks were good and the atmosphere was fun. The staff was all very nice and we enjoyed talking to our waiter Ivan. We went back for drinks a couple days later. If you’re in the area - stop by!

Nos atendieron con muy mala actitud. Solo permiten pago máximo de dos tarjetas y no avisan con anticipación. No recomiendo la comida tampoco.

As explained, as a matter of policy and out of respect for all our guests, we were unable to split checks for every individual at large tables in the busiest night of the year. Processing hundreds of credit card transactions in a single night would have significantly impacted the experience for everyone in attendance. While we respect everyone's right to share their opinion, reviews like this often say more about the reviewer than they do about Mamazul. We remain committed to offering exceptional service to all our guests and appreciate those who understand the challenges of managing a seamless experience on such busy nights.

After a long journey into Tulum from the airport much later than expected and got there moments after the kitchen closed. They were so kind to let us put in a food order and gave us great service as the final customers of the night. Would definitely eat there again our next time in Tulum!

Good service, in Aldea Zama so a bit out of way. Service was good - felt food we had was average. We did observe (didn’t do) the tequila tasting they offer and honestly that looked amazing and engaging - and what this place was about.

We went to mamazul twice. One for drinks and second went back for the cheese and mezcal tasting. Ricardo did our tasting and it was so fun and perfect and he was very knowledgeable about mezcal and the region. Totally worth it.

We just moved to Aldea Zama and discovered this gem on Valentine’s Day. It is a solid variation of authentic Mexican cuisine in the heart of Aldea Zama, and a welcome step away from the sushi/Peruvian/Thai onslaught offered throughout Tulum. The decore is a very cool traditional Mexican style with very interesting accents throughout the space. My only wish is that they lower the lights about 50 percent to allow the accent lighting of the cool artifacts to shine.

The food was delicious and cooked beautifully. Luca assisted us by explaining each Mezcal in our flight. We laughed, enjoyed the music and ate incredible food.

Having just arrived in Tulum and not used to driving here yet it was surprisingly difficult to find the restaurant (even went down a one-way road in the wrong direction). This wasn’t a good start and I arrived at the restaurant stressed and grumpy. We were the only guests that ate while we were there and several dishes were not available. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Gucamole starter and the mushroom risotto. I liked the Tuna Tartar starter, the beef as a main didn’t impress me. Overall, I was disappointed, not all is the restaurants fault though!
