Drinks were outstanding. Bar tenders attentive and friendly. While the food was good we were disappointed in the lack of heat in all of our dishes. We prefer our Indian cuisine on the spicier side. All dishes were flavored well but lacked spiciness. When mentioned this to our server she said we could have asked for added spice… after the fact. Servers should mention this and ask customers what level of spice we prefer. Just know upfront that dishes are all MILDLY spiced ( something that was mentioned after we ordered).

We had an absolutely wonderful experience celebrating my husband’s “big birthday.” The restaurant’s impeccable and beyond pleasant owners could not have been more gracious. Our server patiently went through menu options and checked with us often. Each dish we ordered was excellent. We will be back!

Fantastic new addition to Downtown Highland Park. Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Owners are wonderful.

Food was so good. Loved the Gobi Mussallam! Very attentive service from the owners. Will definitely go back.

My family and I have been here a few times already, so we tried some new dishes today. The steak was tender and served with a type of chimichurri sauce that is amazing. Normally, I like steak with just salt and pepper, but this was a nice change. The new dishes were tiger prawns, which were delicious, and spinach curry. I scolded my son for licking the plate. The chicken tikka masala was decadent. What a fantastic meal.

What a gem! Friendly service, delicious food, beautiful decor. An amazing addition to downtown Highland Park. Owners & staff went above and beyond to make our birthday girl's night a special one!

Indus Progressive Indian was the most delicious Indian dinner I've had in a very long time. And that's from someone who eats Indian frequently. From the moment I walked in, it felt special; the ambiance, the decor and especially....the aroma! When our order began to come out, it just got better and better. From the smoked dal, to the owner's mother's recipe including delicious chick peas, to the chicken tikka masala, it was one taste sensation after another. Even more straightforward items like the naan and rice were especially delicious compared to what I'm used to. And the service was excellent. Our waiter was named "Angel" and I felt like I was in heaven the entire evening. I'll be going back a lot, and frankly, can't wait...

The preparations at Indus are delicious and creative! The presentation is lovely. All the wait staff and the owners are wonderfully friendly and helpful. I had the halibut steamed in a banana leaf and can't wait to go back for more.
