Opened in 2011, Indigenous has earned a reputation for being an inspirational and educational restaurant. For years, Indigenous has been known as one of America’s top restaurants, renowned for its passion for food, the community, and the planet. Indigenous’ menu of seasonal American cuisine changes progressively throughout the year based on peak ingredient availability. With a focus on sustainable seafood, we work closely with local fisherman, artisans, and farmers to maintain the highest quality. At Indigenous, we are always working our best to create a better food system. Owner Chef Steve Phelps has been a James Beard Foundation Semi Finalist for Best Chef South in 2014 & 2015, an Ambassador for Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force, and a founding member and Chef for the EDF Coalition for Sustainable Aquaculture.

We had a great experience. We went specifically for the burgers and they did not disappoint. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We finished off our meal with the delicious coconut sorbet.

First, we go out to dinner a lot. We love trying all kinds of restaurants. I had been to Indegioous about 5 years ago, and we had not returned because it did not impress me or my wife. So, we wanted to give it another try ... This time, I gave it an overall rating of 2, but I was torn to give it a 1 possibly. Indegious bills (promotes) itself as a high-end dining experience. It is far from it. NOT WAY. I find the menu boring and the food and presentation are just "OKAY". The restaurant has charm, but it is quickly lost when the staff that serve you wear a t-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. It felt like we were at a Bistro with a whopping bill at the end. All of the high ratings that you see are nothing more than hype ... and nothing else.

Very interesting restaurant . A good example of old Florida vibe. Good atmosphere overall. Dinner was good.

First time at indigenous that the food was not good. The haddock was very tough. The scallops were very fishy. But the falafel was great.

Haddock? Fishy scallops? Please give us more information. We do not sell haddock here. And our scallops couldnt be more fresh. What night did you dine with us and where were you seated? Did you tell your server about this so we can make your experience better?
