Opened in 2011, Indigenous has earned a reputation for being an inspirational and educational restaurant. For years, Indigenous has been known as one of America’s top restaurants, renowned for its passion for food, the community, and the planet. Indigenous’ menu of seasonal American cuisine changes progressively throughout the year based on peak ingredient availability. With a focus on sustainable seafood, we work closely with local fisherman, artisans, and farmers to maintain the highest quality. At Indigenous, we are always working our best to create a better food system. Owner Chef Steve Phelps has been a James Beard Foundation Semi Finalist for Best Chef South in 2014 & 2015, an Ambassador for Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force, and a founding member and Chef for the EDF Coalition for Sustainable Aquaculture.

Very interesting restaurant . A good example of old Florida vibe. Good atmosphere overall. Dinner was good.

First time at indigenous that the food was not good. The haddock was very tough. The scallops were very fishy. But the falafel was great.

Haddock? Fishy scallops? Please give us more information. We do not sell haddock here. And our scallops couldnt be more fresh. What night did you dine with us and where were you seated? Did you tell your server about this so we can make your experience better?

Mushroom bisque was heavenly. The rest of the food was ok. Wait service was lacking.

Our apologies that service was not spot on that evening. We try to make every aspect of our guests experience perfect. If no trouble, could you let us know what area of our restaurant you were dining in so we can discuss with the proper staff member? We tend to address these issue very quickly to make us better.

Always a treat, the Mushroom bisque a definite delight. Off the hectic path in beautiful setting where attentive staff clearly enjoy being part of a great team while serving you delectable, yet healthy fare. The fresh flavorful farm to table ingredients make each dish a standout. Fish dip starter with most delicately shaved pink n lime hued radish and cucumber and nori salted crackers stayed through the main course, didn't want to miss a bite! Loved the scallops, fresh fennel and other herbs, an explosive bouquet of flavor on your palate. Love bringing out of town guests and seeing how much they enjoy it all.
