Blackpool has so many fantastic places to eat, but our delightful Palm Court restaurant is the place for a sumptuous, relaxing dinner. The Victorian dining room is full of grandeur and our restaurant team always go that little bit further to make serving a meal a magical experience.

The views in the restaurant are spectacular, with sweeping vistas across the Fylde coast and the occasional heritage tram tootling by. Diners can soak in the scenery while enjoying fine dining from the table d’hôte menu that changes quarterly, according to the seasons.

We also have a range of daily specials, with our chefs using locally sourced produce whenever possible to ensure that only the best and freshest ingredients are used. The restaurant has flexible seating arrangements, so we can cater for large parties and children are also well catered for, thanks to the family dining options.

At The Imperial, you aren’t just offered a pot of tea and a bit of cake; the experience is composed of many delicious elements (both savoury and sweet!) that you’ll love. Not to mention the professional and attentive service from our talented team. You’ll be served a small cup of soup and a hearty sausage roll in addition to sandwiches, scones and cake. The sandwiches are delicate and tasty on soft bread. There’s nothing “usual” about the sweet treats, either! There’s an array of bite-sized delights which have been lovingly prepared to really showcase the talents of our pastry chef and to really tantalise the palette. We have a wide range of enjoyable teas, but if you want a little more drama in your afternoon tea, we can add some fizz!

The food was really good and it was the first time we’d had the warm items to start with. The venue was impressive but that’s where the wow factor stopped. Nothing was done with the table setting, it was very sparse. I’ve had quite a few afternoons teas and I’ve always been offered a selection of teas, here it was “do you want tea or coffee?” And when I asked if they had a selection they said “yes, what do you want?”, no choice was given. Despite there only being a couple of other customers there, service was really slow, with us having to get up and ask for a refill of our drinks twice. The last ones took 45 minutes to get to our table. The experience could have been so much better without it costing more. I think the staff just need a brush up on some customer service skills. One bit of advice I would give is when your customers arrive, acknowledge them. Don’t not make eye contact, walk off whilst saying over your shoulder, “put this lot on that table”. It’s not very welcoming.

Expecting a three course Sunday lunch brought to the table. What we got was a buffet style salad starter and tiny frozen dessert choices. No soup?? The main meal was adequate, wasn’t anything to shout about, could have had more veg on plate if it wasn’t covered by the massive Yorkshire pudding? Why wasn’t our drinks order taken before the main course came? Very odd, muddled service, disappointing as treating the in laws

Afternoon Tea was not the best due to the poor service there was only one person serving all the tables so this made it very slow and nothing seemed to be ready in advance considering that they new how many people they had booked in

Offer says 3 courses plus salad bar in reality first course is the salad bar and it is only salad no meat or fish. Nice plated main course of pork or beef but beef was really tough and impossible to cut!! Self service for dessert with a choice of mostly cakes. Lovely hotel and dining room. Complained about beef and got a discountz

This is the second time we had afternoon tea at The Imperial Hotel. As always we found it very enjoyable. It is also extremely good value for money. My only complaint is that you need more staff to run this event smoothly. I know there was also a wedding, however it just appears that the staff are harassed or under pressure. A good example, was, as we say in the reception area, as we arrived early. We couldn't help but notice a very large queue of guests waiting to check in, and only one member of staff available to do the check-in. The queue was around 12/15 people and only 4 were checked in at the time we wait, around 30mins. The afternoon tea was splendid, although again it seemed the staff there too, were struggling.

We booked a table last minute and ate at 7.45pm ... The waiting staff were all friendly and welcoming .... Our food on the other hand was very disappointing.... My husband had the prawns to start which were very bland and tasteless and we both ordered steaks ... My steak was cooked to perfection and chips were lovely ... His meal on the other hand was like it had been cooked by someone else... His steak was blue ( meant to be medium) and his chips solid ... We sent his back to be cooked further ... When it returned his rump had turned in to sirloin and was cooked to within an inch of it's life. . Chips still hard and instead of peppercorn sauce he now had a tomato type sauce ... Exasperated and starving he ate it and we left ... My son's pizza was amazing .... For a bill of £115 ( a couple of drinks included) the meal was certainly not worth it.
