Imad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Making his way from Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees, up to 400 at a time, and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong.

Nice place , with nice food . Some of the dishes are so so . There is only one vegetarian main which is an aubergine filled with lentils, broad beans and covered in herbs . It arrived tepid , well presented , but sadly was very mediocre. The whole thing was mushy, and quite herby . I would not order again . The falafel , Zahra harra, labneh, batta harra was nice . The fattoush was a big let down as the dressing was too sharp . Desert was lovely and the service was really good . I love Aubergine , but the Aubergine dishes were not too my liking . I would go again . I loved the Syrian ice cream . Thank you for a lovely evening .

We had a great experience on Friday night. Arrived slightly early but were quickly seated. Our server was friendly and helpful and gave us good advice about the menu. The food was really tasty with ample portions. We loved the atmosphere…. buzzy but relaxed. We will definitely return next time we visit London

The mezze selection is excellent for vegetarians and everything we ate was delicious. The saroja, muhammara and zataar pita were standouts and the zahraa harra was exceptional . Would have liked the goat's cheese in the dukkah salad to have been either baked or grilled instead of just straight out of the fridge. The Beirut beer was smooth and a perfect accompaniment to our meal. Service was friendly and efficient. Very pleasant dining atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Hummus and flatbread very good Dukkuh salad goats cheese was great Lamb and spiced rice excellent Syrian ice cream with candy floss highlight delicous Service was excellent very attentive Loved the decor Will return to check out other dishes

I would ordinarily have put outstanding as the food was incredible however the strange attitude of the waiter in charge of our table ruined it slightly. We booked for 7pm for 90 minutes. At 08.14 with still some food on the table which we were eating and some wine, the waiter came over and told us that we would need to finish our drinks at the bar as they needed the table back. We pointed out that we still had in excess of 15 minutes left and he went to "go and check". Everything thereafter became quite awkward and it was all so unnecessary. To note, there were lots of spare seats in the seated area overlooking Kingly Court when we left and only one party of x3 waiting for their table (which can't have been ours as we were x2, with no room for another chair). It seems that aggressive customer turnover targets might actually be interfering with serving the outstanding food?
