Il Toscano means “The Tuscan”, and is a perfect representation of everything I am, and all that I love about my home land in Italy.

My name’s Matteo – head pasta maker, chef and owner of il Toscano. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuscany, and although I’ve now lived in Australia for over 9 years, my passion for all things Italian has never been stronger.

Nor has my passion for sharing it with Australia and the Central Coast. I noticed that while there are a lot of outlets serving Italian food up here, they’re largely not hitting the mark when it comes to quality, authenticity and traditional local Tuscan food.

Our mission is to bring people together for an amazing Italian experience with good food, wine and good times and share with you my strong passion and our local traditional cuisine as if you were in Tuscany.

Beautiful authentic restaurant in Long Jetty! Excellent service, lovely wine & food was delicious. The spaghetti marinara was amazing! Great atmosphere ❤️

From the time we walked in the greeting was warm and friendly. Our waitress was lovely, chatty and friendly. Nothing was too much of a hassle. She recommended Dishes based on our preference. The service was fast but not too fast. The food was fresh, tasty, Delicious and made from scratch. could tell it was made with love! It was the best pasta dish I’ve had in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks again for having us 😊

Excellent traditional Tuscan food, cannot fault. Service attentive without being intrusive. Gets noisy especially if large groups dining but not a major issue for us. Is a great local restaurant and we will most definitely be back.

Started with the lamb meatballs which were delicious a good size and full of flavour then had the combo pasta which is a combination of meat, mushrooms, bacon etc also delicious and filling. Had a glass of wine to help wash it down. Food, service and wine were excellent! I found the chairs a bit uncomfortable and it did get a bit hot in there but overall a great experience.
