Extremely disappointed. Had both the clams casino and clams oreganta which were good. All 3 of us got the veal parm special. At the original Il Mulino veal parm was always top notch. Tonight the veal parm was bland. Zero taste and slightly burnt. It looked amazing when it came out but I can’t remember ever being more disappointed in a meal. Tried politely to tell the manager/Maitre D that it wasn’t great when he asked how our meal was. He didn’t seem interested in any negative feedback. Don’t think we will be back.

Extremely casual compared to other Il Mulino restaurants. Salads good, Bronzino served on a plate so hot the fish was overcooked. Rookie mistake for veterans. We will not return.

My experience at Il Mulino was amazing. The dinner pre fixe menu was absolutely great value with amazing taste and presentation. My friend and I enjoyed the calamari, baked clams (casino), NY Strip, and both the chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. We were treated with a delicious spirit whose name I cannot recall, but smelled of Chamomile and tasted well balanced and syrupy. Our server (older Italian man with dirty blonde hair - sorry I cannot recall your name!) poured out of a gigantic flask and made us laugh. I will be back and recommend this restaurant for anyone interested in an intimate dinner date with a loved one.

Somewhat disappointing. The wine list has few affordable choices and the menu is uneven. Although it is a steak house, the Italian offerings were limited and not well prepared. We were with our closest friends and enjoyed the experience anyway.

It saddens me to say this, but this once great restaurant is now really struggling. I should have known when I saw how empty it was. The shrimp cocktails and oysters were just really bad. They did not taste fresh and tasted like they had come out of the freezer. Porcini ravioli was pretty good although not at the quality level I had come to expect of Il Mulino. Bread was very bland. The staff was very nice. They were pleasant and attentive although there were some odd things (they offered fresh ground pepper on the shrimp cocktail and oysters but not the ravioli). They also refused to honor an Il Mulino gift card that was in an official Il Mulino card clearly stating “Valid at all New York Outposts.” The head waiter/manager did remove the costs of the shrimp and oysters, and I know he felt bad about it, but I think it was totally unfair and probably illegal. I have had so many great meals at Il Mulino over the years—from the original Greenwich Village location to Uptown to the location that was in DC for a while. This experience was totally different. It’s not the same place, which I hate to say. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I went to dinner with friends I haven't seen in 20 years I had a wonderful time The food service everything was great I will definitely be visiting the establishment again. I have the tomato salad with New York strip and a chocolate cake can't go wrong with that. My guests had pork chops and the other one had the oxtail ragu which I'm definitely going to get next time it was delicious.

Quite good food. Restaurant is pretty small so I am guessing it will be pretty loud if there are lots of customers. It was not crowded the night I went.
