Since its inception in 1986, IL FORNELLO Restaurants has always been at the forefront of offering classic Italian fare with a modern flair. We were the first to introduce wood-fired oven pizzas to Toronto and one of the first mainstream restaurants to introduce an extensive plant-based menu. Known for its pizzas and pastas, each of our locations has special menu features tailored to its community and diners. Our menus also accommodate a wide-range of diets, from dairy-free to gluten-free – there’s something for everyone!

Amazing staff. Hostesses, bartenders and servers all very welcoming. Pizza and focaccia were excellent. Lauren and Bianca were especially nice.

This was our fist visit here or at any of this chain. It is a lovely new spot in Mississauga at the old Sheridan Mall which has recently undergone a renovation and become much more upscale. The decor is very appealing, unfortunately the food was not. We shared what was the worst Caesar salad I have ever had, watery with no flavour. Parmesan cheese and croutons were all I could detect to link it to a classic Caesar. The rest of the traditional ingredients seemed to be MIA. My husband’s Vodka penne was cooked well with an okay sauce and minimal pancetta. I had the appetizer of eggplant Parmesan which actually was quite tasty with nice firm eggplant instead of the all too common mush. The menu, including specials was very ordinary, with nothing that sparked any excitement. My husband and I eat out a lot. With at least 6 excellent Italian restaurants within a short drive away, Il Fornello. is going to have a hard time competing with those rivals. It’s an attractive space, it needs to improve its food offerings to rival anyone other than Boston Pizza.

Second time at this location and it was spectacular. Will definitely be coming back more as it’s right around the corner from me

Overall the food was a bit in the higher end for the amount received. And the only big complaint was it took way longer than expected to get our mains for a table of 8. Our server Chow (I think her name was) was very pleasant accommodating

The prices were very reasonable and the drink special was very good. We chose app and mains, I would have loved to see more flavour. I will try it again and keep it simple by ordering the pizza and salad - which looked really good.

I had dinner with an old friend. Our server was excellent. For the most part the food was good and reasonably priced. I thought my pasta was a bit dry but everything was tasty. It was quite cold in the restaurant tonight - to the point of it being a distraction. Other than that it was a good evening.

The Gnocchi was great. The calamari could be a bit more spicy. The service was spectacular. I will definitely go back.

Service was quick and attentive. pizza good, cannelloni a bit bland, desserts delicious. Good value. Ambience standard cafeteria style. Noise level quite high.
