Since its inception in 1986, IL FORNELLO Restaurants has always been at the forefront of offering classic Italian fare with a modern flair. We were the first to introduce wood-fired oven pizzas to Toronto and one of the first mainstream restaurants to introduce an extensive plant-based menu. Known for its pizzas and pastas, each of our locations has special menu features tailored to its community and diners. Our menus also accommodate a wide-range of diets, from dairy-free to gluten-free – there’s something for everyone!

I will go back. The staff were great. The decor was great. The food was good but I have had better pizza but for a new restaurant opening I feel like they will do well and I will go back.

Came here with my family and had excellent service from Bethany. Food came out fast and tasted amazing. Had the gnocchi which was cooked perfectly and my family enjoyed the agua coco and aperol spritz. Will definitely return soon!

The margarita pizza was a bit cold and the cheese was not melted at all. The fettuccine Alfredo had a strange taste. My bread had blue pieces of plastic on it. And I don’t like dipping my bread in olive oil and they make you feel weird about asking for butter for the bread.

I was so excited to have Il Fornello in our area! We went for a light dinner. My memories of Il Fornello in TO were amazing… My experience yesterday was disappointing. Service was very good, the food, on the other hand was tasteless. I had the calamari and the Pizza Suprema. Neither of those dishes were up to the standard I remember. Flavourless and uneventful. We were there for 35’. I couldn’t wait to leave. The seating on the benches is good, but those chairs are the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered. There was a guy sweeping the floor while we ate. I have not see that in ages. Not a good experience at all. They need to focus on the food if they want to survive. Service alone will not be enough.

Amazing lunch with a coworker! Service was great and the Caesar Salad & Penne Alla Vodka was probably the best I've every had! Looking forward to returning and trying the pizza - it looks amazing!

A few learning curves still to iron out but overall the food was very good and the new restaurant was lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Il Fornillo on Wednesday and yesterday. The Fantini Pinot Grigio is very good. I’ve had the eggplant parmesan twice now and it is very good. The first time is was served lukewarm so Athena (mgr) gave us complimentary desserts. We had the crème brûlée & coconut key lime panacotta, both good. The Pollo Wellington with honey mustard sauce is excellent - light crust, good flavour. I also enjoyed the calamari. Servers Delaney & Kimberly were very good. This will be one of my neighbourhood go-to restaurants.

Once we figured out that they have renamed the old Sheridan Mall to Sherwood Village we were able to find it. The service was excellent! The server and the manager and GM bent over backwards and it was much appreciated. The menu was limited. They need to add some healthier options. Not a lot of vegetarian choice if you didn’t want pasta or pizza. Will keep our eye on the menu to check for updates as the ambience and service are worth a return but the menu was not.
