Absolutely the best meal I’ve experienced at this restaurant. From the drinks to dinner and dessert worth all 5 stars. The waiter was attentive and met all of our expectations. My husband had the veal (less the capers) and I had grilled salmon.

This was a special birthday celebration for me and my twin sister. Reservations made well in advance and indicated that is was a special celebration in the notes. My husband brought it up to the hostess when we checked in. She said the restaurant was very busy and may not be able to accommodate us. What is the purpose of reserving on Open Table and asking to accommodate for a special occasion? Our table was less than desirable. And while your restaurant indicates it is romantic. This was definitely not romantic or special. Probably will not be a choice for us in the future when choosing a restaurant for a special occasion.

This has always been a favorite restaurant of mine in the past. There were four of us and 2 of us were dissatisfied with our meals. I ordered my favorite dish, sea bass. I have had it numerous times in the past. But yesterday it came with a tomoto sauce instead of a lemon wine sauce. Who puts red sauce on fish? I immediately said that this is not right. He informed me that they had changed the sauce. I tasted it and told him that I did not like the fish with pasta sauce. I moved the sauce to the side. He brought me another sauce full of olives and salty, it did not compliment the fish either, even worse. He did not offer me a different entree. I did not eat the fish. I ate the potatoes and carrots only. He gave me a $20 discount on a $45 meal. Our check was over $300 with appetizers and beverages. When he picked up the check I told him that I didn’t think I should have to pay for the fish since I didn’t like it or eat it. But when he returned the bill nothing was changed. They lost a long time customer over $25. Very disappointed and will never return.

Excellent shrimp and scallop entrees, attractively presented with very generous portions. I’d prefer more veggies and something other than Yukon gold potatoes with salmon. Volcano chocolate dessert a big hit.

Incredible service and food! Arancini is to die for. Warm banana bread pudding delicious.

Food and wine was amazing as always. All staff were friendly, and very competent. Such an enjoyable Christmas Eve.

Beautiful setting for Christmas Eve Dinner before Mass at St. Clare’s. Truly, it was tastefully decorated inside and felt like Christmas. The food was average to good. Originally from New York, I am used to delicious and savory Italian Food be it at home or at a restaurant. The Caesar Salad was decent, the pasta dishes just OK. I thought the pasta dishes were overpriced for what they were. I had the Lobster Ravioli, which missed the mark. It was at a price point of $44. I had bought Lobster Ravioli from Costco which was better , and made it with a little virgin olive oil, and fresh grated cheese. That dish at home cost $5.00 to 6.00. The cocktails were too strong. A well balanced cocktail should not taste of alcohol. The wine was OK. The dessert was decent as was my espresso. The service was warm, attentive, and good. Kudos to Carlos. I was clever in saving money when they served me the bill or check. I quickly purchased two $100 virtual gift cards for $85 each, and each one came with a complimentary $20 gift card to be used in January, February, or March. This quick thinking made our dinner more palatable. Overall, a pleasant experience. Also, did the Galleria Valet Parking for $10 which was right next to the restaurant. Worth it when the Galleria is packed with last minute shoppers.

We’ve eaten at several il Fornaio’s over the years. The Roseville property is THE BEST! Cozy decor, and excellent service in bar and dining room. Better cooking than at the other IF’s and better service. (We won’t go to the Walnut Creek IF any longer - poorly managed and not work the value experience.) The Roseville property is outstanding! GO!
