Il Fornaio offers consistently good Italian food with great service. For almost 20 years, it has been one of our favorite spots in Los Angeles. David is an outstanding waiter and makes us feel like we are at home. Highly recommended.

My sisters and I took our 88 year old mom out to dinner. We all enjoyed the drinks, appetizers and meal. My mom asked that we plan a dinner here each month. Warmed my heart and filled our stomaches.

Went for lunch so not crowded at all. Lots of FREE parking! Food is good and service was attentive.

Food was very good , always is. Found waiter to not be very attentive and our group all felt that he was too important to be waiting on us. We had literally all travelled from around the world to meet at your restaurant for a major meeting for the aerospace industry. The next day we went to another nearby Italian restaurant , service was superb !

As chain restaurants go, Il Fornaio isn't bad. The dishes vary in quality, but on average are decent. The surprise of the night on the upside was the branzino, which was fresh, cooked properly, and seasoned well. The fried calamari were plentiful and happily non-greasy. The ravioli were less impressive, ditto the zucchini appetizer, a creative – or bizarre, depending on one’s framing – presentation that looked like lasagna but was oddly tasteless. In addition, the wine list is pathetic – short and lacking information on vintages. Single malt options were perplexingly few; just two! Weird. However, by far the critical factor in the lower overall rating I'm giving is the absurd pricing. I have paid quite high prices many a time without balking when served extraordinary food. This food was not extraordinary. There is no justification for the prices charged

Usually love a meal at Il Fornaio but this time the food was meh and my husband got sick from his salmon meal. My ravioli was overcooked as was my son’s steak.

This place has so much potential. Great space, decent menu and yet, every time we go, the service is slow (even though the restaurant is not full), the food is good but not great, and the prices just keep climbing. We paid $4 for a few pieces of bread. IMHO it's overpriced for what it is -- and, I keep wanting to love it, but leave feeling "meh."

The waiter made us feel a little uncomfortable not sure if he was joking or being serious but he told us as soon as we arrived and tried ordering food if we were going to order “chicharrones” when we know it’s an Italian restaurant not a Mexican restaurant. When my husband told him he wanted to order an old fashion to drink he then said oh I thought you would order a “Paloma” to drink. Not sure why he would say that or joke around like that.
