    A group of six went for a birthday dinner. I was disappointed with the food, it took a very long time to arrive, when it did the food was cold so we had to send it back.

    Il Fornaio is one of our go-to restaurants. We ate here for a Friday-date night. When I made our reservation through Open Table, I requested for a table by the window. They obliged. Our table was perfect! We ordered the Calamari Fritti as appetizer. It came hot and crunchy, definitely freshly made. My husband ordered the Linguine Mare, came piping hot and the seafood was so fresh. I ordered the Toscana Pollo, roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. Not hot, just lukewarm, but I still enjoyed it.. We also ordered the Bread Pudding to-go and that was very good. The service was okay, they are busy so we have to wait for our main dishes. Overall, we had a great experience at Il Fornaio in Burlingame, and we love the ambience. We will be back.

    Love Il Fornaio. We've been in several over the last 20 years - Burlingame being our favorite. We noted during our meal yesterday evening hat we have never had a disappointing meal at any Il Fornaio. The food is consistently good - hot, tasty delivered promptly and looks good on the plate. Also the cocktails are delicious. Unfortunately for me - they also serve delicious bread when you arrive. Service is attentive but never intrusive.

    We love this restaurant and it is in our regular rotation. On Tuesday, we visited to support their LAs Angela’s Fire Fighter fundraiser. Il’Fornaio was up to its normal excellence with delicious food and service. As a public safety professional, I appreciate the good will and support Il Fornaio provides during major emergencies and national disasters.

    The service was really odd. The server seemed to be in a major hurry even though we were seated well ahead of our reservation and they weren’t super busy. My sister literally had to grab the bread off of her bread plate while the server was pulling the plate away. Our food was brought to us about 5 minutes after ordering it. It was really odd. Every step was rushed. We sat down at 6pm and were out the door at 6:40. We wanted to relax and spend time together, but felt so rushed, we just left. The food itself was very, very bland. Two of us had the risotto, which came out with black rice. Unsure why. Came with prawns and scallops. Nothing on the plate had flavor. Another one had pesto pasta, also with no flavor. And the pizza was ok, just very limp. Definitely do not recommend this place

    This is our "go to" place whenever my friend and it meet for lunch. Always wonderful food, lovely servers and a great place to eat. We will continue to meet there.
