Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. Start your meal off with an Italian style inspired cocktail and remember to save room for all of your favorite Italian homemade desserts to complement your dinning experience.

Our server was amazing. Three of our party of 5 are vegetarian or vegan. Our server described how the chef could prepare a couple of different dishes to accommodate us. The food was so tasty! We will definitely return.

Enjoyed our evening, great variety choices on the menu for our entire group. Prices were reasonable. All five of us were happy with our choices, food was served hot and in a timely fashion. Servers were all pleasant. Nice atmosphere and it was nice to be indoors as it was a cool night, on a warm evening they offer a nice outdoor patio. They also had a great wine list.

Food was excellent, the restaurant is beautiful but the best is the service - we sat at the bar and bartender Eduardo was outstanding. I wish we had his service in south Orange County !

Risotto was not what risotto should be. Panna cotta was gummy and overall not edible.

Food was good but service stumbled throughout the evening. Had to send back two Cosmos as they were undrinkable due to acidity from too much lime juice. First courses were served incorrectly, Server combined a glass of wine with other person’s wine rather than serve the person who ordered it. (Wrong) Waiter was very very hard to understand. And to finish it off, the wrong bill was presented at the end and the person paying didn’t notice it. (The total amount seemed right to her.). Several minutes later waiter returned and said he needed more cash because the right bill was a bit higher. Just sloppy all around. For the money involved the restaurant needs to up the level of service/staff. We are year round locals who have frequented the restaurant numerous times with visitors. There was confused service each time. This may the last visit for us. Sad, because the place is beautiful, but a $350 bill plus tip deserves a more elevated dining experience.

This has been our go to place whenever we’re in Palm Springs. However, this last dinner wasn’t up to their usual standards. We might look for another restaurant our next visit.

Great atmosphere. Asked for salmon medium but came out well done. Sent it back which was no problem. They made a new plate so that was great. Beet salad was fantastic. Carpaccio was good. Entrees, Risotto Pesce, salmon and side of green beans. Flavor of all did not wow us but was good. Supposed to have lobster in the Risotto but did not find any. They brought out a birthday ice cream for my girl. That was a nice touch! Certainly not trying to be over critical. Just honest. I will go back.

Best pizza in Palm Springs. Bar experience is phenomenal. Pasta is exceptional as os Osso Bucco Eric is a fabulous waiter. Service and ambience takes you to Italy with a Coachella Valley twist. Highly recommend

We've been to Il Corso before. Unfortunately this time makes us question about whether we'll return. The lasagna lacked any real cheese in it -- and there was no questions about whether additional cheese was desired or how the food was during the meal service, as the server was pretty much MIA. The server Eduardo P was slow and didn't do a good job -- food was served and never checked on us again till the end of the mal. If this was fast casual, I would understand. But this restaurant seems to think of itself as fine dining, but was far from that on service. The lasagna lacked cheese, taste, etc. The tagliatelle bolognese pasta was ok, but lacked seasoning and was rather flat. The calamari appetizer was ok, but nothing to write home about. When it was mentioned to the server that about the lasagna lacked cheese or we lacked service (no manager ever came by either), he never apologized. He tried to crack jokes -- it wasn't funny. He shouldn't be working at the restaurant. Food was lacking, service was lacking even more.
