Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal. We dine at Il Corso 2 or more times per month. We love the staff, the food, the warmth of the restaurant and the very, very tall ceilings. This is one of the best restaurants in Palm Springs. The pizza is also very good and the price is reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant.

A note for a non local trying to find the restaurant, Apple Maps got it wrong and it difficult to find based on the address. The easiest way (I ended up calling) find the Starbucks on the main drag and the walk around it. It’s not on the Main Street. Once found it’s a beautiful Restaurant with great food I had seafood risotto my friend had pasta bolanase. I started with a Hugo spritz which was delightful

Let start by mentioning we had a 7:45 reservation and weren’t seated until 8:20. Inexcusable as far as I’m concerned! What’s the point of a reservation if you have to wait 35 minutes to be seated. Once seated, no one acknowledged us or served us for another 15 minutes. It was almost an hour after our reservation time before we had just water! The service was very slow the rest of the meal. This restaurant is very noisy! We were sat at a small table for two surrounded by big groups and were not able to have a conversation without shouting at each other. It was our anniversary so we were hoping for a more intimate and romantic experience. This place was NOT that! The food was good, but maybe a bit overpriced. We each had a cocktail and shared the carpaccio and a Caesar salad. (They forgot the anchovies, but we ate the salad without them because we couldn’t get a waiter’s attention for over 10 minutes.) My husband had the branzino, which he said was good. I had the quattro pizza. It was good too. For dessert we shared the tiramisu. It was good, but had too much lose coco powder on the top. It went everywhere, the table, our clothes and made us cough a little when we took a bite. I’m not sure I’d eat here again as a couple. Maybe with a big group I’d give it another try. The staff seemed more attentive to the big groups and they had better tables in the restaurant.

Me and my girlfriends had an amazing dinner experience here. Our waiter was Raul and he was so attentive, pleasant, and patient with us. He gave us amazing food recommendations along with recommendations to keep our night going after our dinner. We also met one of the sweet cooks (from Sicily I cannot remember his name) and he was just so warm with us. 100/10 experience. Food was amazing, fresh, and drinks were beautifully made. Will definitely be coming here again next time I’m in Palm Springs!

We had a most delicious meal. We started out with the grilled calamari and then John ordered. Veal marsala and I ordered the Brandino, which was so good . Everything was absolutely wonderful from arriving. The service was impeccable and the food delicious you should really try it

The food was good, but I’ve had Better there. Our waiter was very nice, but I think he was overworked because we had to call him over to the table several times to take our order or to refill our drinks… it is a beautiful restaurant though. I don’t think I will rush back, and the ladies with me said the same.
