My favorite place for dinner or brunch in DC! Awesome location too. Service is great and food is amazing.

Authentic Italian food, full of amazing flavor. Loved the service and atmosphere. Highly recommend if you have something special to celebrate or just looking for a great meal

The food was pretty good, when it finally came. A long wait and the they brought me the wrong dish, so I had to wait some more. Staff seemed very stressed. There were lots of staff running around in the dining room, but not too many actual waiters. At one point I looked outside and there were four staff persons standing and talking. I’ve worked in restaurants and this one was not well managed.

A friend and I decided to take advantage of restaurant week at Il Piatto. We were seated immediately. There was an energetic feel to the place when we arrived - people enjoying themselves! We ordered the three courses: the arugula salad and the arancini, the pappardelle bolognese and the chicken parmesan, and the cheese cake and the mango sorbet. Each of us enjoyed the food that was served, in a timely and well-paced manner by our attentive server. We had a bottle of the house red wine, a nice Montepulciano. At the end of the meal we added an espresso and an Italian digestivo. One of the digestivi was not available and an alternative was provided. Excellent service on the part of the host, the service personnel, and the manager (dealing with the missing digestivo). All in all, a delightful evening.

Waited for over an over for food while other guests they were seated after us were served. We were not offered any discounts as we had to ask for to go boxes once our main course was ready. Had to remind the host that we were sitting outside. The worst service Ive received here.

We chose Restuarant Week for our first dining experience at Il Piatto. We settled into a booth and were immediately waited on. After being served drinks and bread, the manager took our order. The Restuarant Week lunch menu was three items for $25, very good value for money. I ordered the Arugula Salad, Rigatoni All Panna and Vanilla Ice Cream; the salad was plentiful yet light, and the Rigatoni was very good. My guest ordered Polpette (Beef meatballs with polenta), Pollo Milanese and Pistachio Ice Cream; both starter and main were large portions and tasty, while the Pistachio Ice Cream was a nice surprise. The manager checked in on us often, and ordered for us a second round of bread, which, with its flaky crust and soft texture, was quite special. A minor hiccup on the bill was taken care of swiftly. It was one of our most enjoyable dining experiences in a long time, and we hope to return to Il Piatto soon. I am anxious to try their Carbonara!

Good food and very good value. Friendly, pleasant service. A good choice for a reasonably priced meal, with many options and good food!
