The food and service were excellent. Michel was a wonderful server and gave good advice regarding our food selections. What was especially nice was that she was attentive but not hovering which is the mark of an expert server. thank you, Michel. The food was beautifully plated and because of this, it was appetizing. Each guest remarked that their meal was delicious. The chef is experienced and talented. This talent is demonstrated by the quality and flavour of the meals served. Bravo chef! We love the ambiance of Idelwyld' s and always look forward to a peaceful and beautiful experience. Thank you.

Positives: A lovely setting with great service. Food presentation very good. Negatives: We were in a small very noisy room that defeated the desired ambiance of a special occasion. The food was tasty but heavy with gravy and sauces. Pricey

I indicated it was my husband s bday when making a reservation and nothing was acknowledged. Same server was serving another table (across from our table) and they were also celebrating bday and a little treat came to that table with a candle. Bit dissapointing. Also, there was no Provimi Calves Liver left which is what was my husband wanted to order.

Two of us made reservations and upon arrival we were rushed and forced to order within minutes of sitting down by first waitress. Then second waitress took over and forgot to bring tea then she forgot to bring hot water until after the food came. We were completely forgotten with no one checking how food was, if we needed anything, or if we needed more beverages. Then second waitress brought us our bill before we even asked for it and while our food had not even been cleared yet!? We had to ask, 'do we have to leave or something? Why are you rushing us out?' Where she proceeded to tell us she had a small party coming in behind us (which was about 15 people), meanwhile we had been there for an hour in total so far, it was so confusing, was there an hour limit to eating and sitting at this place? We then asked to order another beverage despite being rushed and despite being given the bill, and she brought the drinks overflowing and spilling all over the glasses and the table, no apology and no attempt to help clean up, she did not even bring us napkins to clean up. The beautiful setting and atmosphere of the restaurant does not match the terrible service. Management and owners need to hire professionals to teach their wait staff how to serve with etiquette and professionalism OR they need to hire professionally trained servers from the start. The most unprofessional looking and unprofessional acting staff I have encountered in years. I can't believe people are having their wedding and parties at this place with service like this. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Idlewyld is always a good choice, whether dining, staying over night , or visiting the spa. We sat outside in the back courtyard, which has lovely ambience: shaded areas, greenery, comfy spots to sit, and soft music playing. The food was delicious. Service was above par - thanks, Sarah! - especially considering how busy it was. Thanks to the Idlewyld team. We’ll be back, for certain.

The Idlewyld offers exceptional service, food, wine and atmosphere. I look forward to returning for the BBQ menu with live music on a Wednesday night.
