Ida Claire is a funky, southern influenced restaurant & bar open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is notched up southern but has influences from different regions. You’ll most likely see dishes you’ve heard of before but with little twists here and there.

Our sandwiches will be served on biscuits & we’ll have chicken & waffles on every menu. Brunch is obviously southern & will be a big part of what we do. The drinks are takes on classics like the Mint Julep but revved up & including a lot of house made ingredients.

So yummy and love the ambience however it was so loud in there we could hardly talk or hear what the wait person was saying. The down side to not having carpet in restaurants anymore. Giselle was attentive and seemed genuinely interested in us! Refreshing

We were greeted with a smile and were seated immediately upon arrival. Giselle was wonderful. She was attentive, kept us informed about the situation with our order and kept checking on us throughout the evening. Lovely experience.

My favorite restaurant in San Antonio. The entire menu is crafted with flavor and care in mind. The ambiance is relax and the decor makes the place unique.

The food was really good, can’t deny that. We had the pull apart cinnamon roll, hubby had chicken and waffles, and I had the ham and green tomatoes benny. The wait is what made our experience unpleasant. After being seated it took a little over an hour to get our food. They were busy so we were understanding about the long wait time, but we were outside and by the time our food finally got to us we were both too hot to enjoy it.

It was our first time at the restaurant and the Chef, Manager and the Server were very understanding of our dietary needs. The food and the drinks were very good.

The Good: The atmosphere, vibe, music and service were excellent. Our server was both knowledgeable, friendly and had a great personality. Our kids meal came out within 5 minutes. As a parent, I appreciate this as it always take my daughter longer to eat. Mimosa's were just right! Food was good, but more of that to come. Missed opportunities The Bad: Our food took 40 minutes to get to our table. We were extremely patient and had no other timely obligations, so we were probably less irritated than most. The server was very active in apologizing and updating us to the best of her ability. I am very understanding (industry family), as long as when the food comes, it is warm and correct. Sadly, my wife's poached eggs were not consistent. One was great while the other was hard boiled. Again, not the end of the world as it is easily corrective. We notified the manager who apologized. The issue is that a replacement was not provided for another 10 minutes (priority should certainly be given to a situation such as this. I can poach an egg in 2-3 minutes. On the fly means, on the fly). By this time, amongst obvious hunger pains, my wife had completed the rest of her meal. The replacements that were give were watery and had no hollandaise. Sadly, this is a miss that may prevent us from returning despite the good service. Brunch has to be quick and accurate to merit a return. Sadly, when the economy is down and costs are up, there is just far too much competition to swing and miss. No 'corrective' action was taken given the circumstances.
