Il suffit de mettre un pied dans le confortable établissement pour réaliser à quel point le restaurant Hy's respecte la tradition. Les murs polis en acajou, le bar à cocktails, les meubles en bois massif et les œuvres d'art ont été maintenus avec amour depuis que le restaurant s'est installé en 1962. Le menu reste inchangé, à quelques exceptions près, et propose le meilleur du bœuf de qualité canadien et des fruits de mer, sans oublier le sublime toast au fromage du Hy's.

    Unfortunately the quality of Hy's has gone quite a bit since the last time I was there. Hoping my kids would have the same amazing experience I did multiple times years ago, but it didn't. Service felt rushed and pressured (lost count how many times we should try their "famous cheese toast"), they screwed up my wife's steak twice (second time was even more undercooked and the outside burnt to charcoal), and the vegetables were undercooked and flavorless. This may sound petty, but when you're paying these prices, the quality of your food should be at the forefront. My mistake was having the same expectations years ago when they blew my socks off, but that Hy's apparently no longer exists.

    Always a wonderful experience, with the most perfect retro steakhouse vibe! The food is delicious and steaks perfectly done. The wine list is outstanding, and we had exceptional service from Markus whol was attentive from start to finish! His wine knowledge was impressive and we were very happy with the bottle he chose for us. We will always be coming back!

    I arranged dinner after work for my husband’s birthday. We arrived early and were able to partake in happy hour before our seating. The staff is always friendly and professional and the clientele usually includes families who have enjoyed this restaurant for generations now. Our steak was perfect. We enjoyed the cheese toast of course and also a delicious choice of wine. Can’t wait to return.

    Last evening I found myself fighting over whether to order the Cheese Toast. It seems so simple, but this appetizer is not just a hunk of cheddar on bread and toasted. It is a mix of several ingredients which make it amazing! I 'fight' over ordering it because I also want to have the BEST caesar salad in existence anywhere. I also want the best steak and just have to have the accompanying baked potato - loaded! I then want to have the most amazing key lime pie I've ever had (other than at Gotham, but I know it's the same baker). I'm not 18 anymore, so I'm finding it difficult to eat all of these delicacies in one sitting. I'll bet against anyone who thinks they've had better. Say no more. The service is always exceptional, just to add to my culinary enjoyment. If you want a special meal, whether it's on a Monday or on your Birthday, this is a great choice. (I actually booked my birthday at Hy's just the other day, and it's not until summer. I'll be back long before then though. I just can't resist.

    My wife and I attended Hy's Steakhouse for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our server, Geri, was very friendly, efficient and attentive. She made sure that the coffee was always topped up.

    Service was outstanding. Our server, Richard, was fantastic. He was polite, knowledgeable, and attentive. My steak was cook to my request. Cesar salad was good as usual. Cheese bread was on point. Overall, the food and service was outstanding.

    Outstanding meal and service. Both Karen in the upstairs lounge and Andy in the main dining room were fantastic! Definitely an experience to remember!
