Il suffit de mettre un pied dans le confortable établissement pour réaliser à quel point le restaurant Hy's respecte la tradition. Les murs polis en acajou, le bar à cocktails, les meubles en bois massif et les œuvres d'art ont été maintenus avec amour depuis que le restaurant s'est installé en 1962. Le menu reste inchangé, à quelques exceptions près, et propose le meilleur du bœuf de qualité canadien et des fruits de mer, sans oublier le sublime toast au fromage du Hy's.

Hys has been a favourite of ours for 40 years. We love to bring our clients there. Food and service is always outstanding.

disappointed. Specifically made reservation for my daughter’s 4th birthday celebration here. Kindly reminded our server it’s her birthday. We watched the table seated beside us enjoy a candle and a decorated dessert for birthday celebration. I thought we would at least get some “happy bday” scribble on the dessert we ordered but nope. Even the table seated next to us heard and wish my daughter happy bday but our server was too busy and forgot multiple times. Truly regret celebrating her bday here. She had to watch another table celebrate as I told her “yours is next” only to be neglected by our server .

Hy’s Steakhouse has long been a go-to for exceptional dining in Vancouver, and our recent experience reaffirmed why it remains one of the city’s finest. The food was, as always, truly outstanding. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and seasoned with care. You simply won’t find a better steak anywhere in Vancouver. Watching the tableside preparation of Caesar salad, Steak Diane, and Bananas Foster added a delightful, old-school charm to our evening, making it a true culinary treat. However, as much as we’ve come to expect flawless service from Hy’s, our visit was met with some uncharacteristic bumps. There was a large party upstairs, and it seemed to have thrown the staff slightly off their usual game. Cocktails were delayed, and one of our main dishes was overcooked—something very rare for Hy’s. But, as we all know, even the finest establishments can have an off night, and it’s how they recover that truly defines them. In this case, the team at Hy’s handled everything with the utmost professionalism. Our server was attentive, and the leadership quickly rectified the issues, ensuring that we were well taken care of. They went above and beyond to make sure our celebration was not just saved, but transformed into a memorable experience. What could have been a letdown was instead turned around thanks to their attention to detail and commitment to exceptional customer service. Our compliments to the chef, our server, and the entire team for making what was meant to be a special birthday dinner an evening to remember. We hadn’t been to Hy’s in years, and this experience has guaranteed we’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Great food and great service. The Happy Hour feature cocktail was delicious!! If you haven't tried their cheese toast (first time for us) it is by far the best we have ever eaten. All the food was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others!

Overrated. Skip the cheese toast as its just cheesy bread served under aluminum foil. The steak au poivre was just okay. Overrated and overpriced.
