Le Hy's Toronto propose tout ce que l'on peut attendre d'un steakhouse classique, dans une atmosphère élégante et haut de gamme. À l'entrée, le salon chic invite à savourer des martinis à la fraîcheur parfaite. Et chaque coin repas est encore plus magnifique que le précédent, depuis la première salle, avec le célèbre barbecue en son milieu, en passant par l'atrium ouvert baigné de lumière, jusqu'à la mezzanine intime avec sa cheminée confortable et ses armoires à vins en acajou. Vêtus de blanc, les serveurs vous guideront avec professionnalisme et bonne humeur. La carte des vins médaillés vous séduira avec d'excellentes sélections provenant du monde entier. Installez-vous dans une banquette douillette, savourez les fameux toasts au fromage et une salade César, puis délectez-vous d'une des coupes classiques de bœuf canadien de première qualité. Hy's spectacular downtown location is second to none for private dining. Our stunning restaurant can play host for any occasion, from the most formal reception to the most casual get together. We can accommodate 25 to 50 for private dining, and arrangements can be also be made for smaller groups.

Although Hy's continues to excel in quality of food and service, the ambiance and lack of any kind of dress code, has made Hy's not the special, dignified restaurant it used to be. After having a discussion with a couple of managers around this concern, and managers tacit admission that corporate chooses to not have a dress code, and in fact is more interested in the bottom line rather than retaining any of what made Hy's special, we've decided to no longer patronize Hy's. This is a shame, because I've been a devotee of Hy's dating back to 1958. So long to what was.

We continue to request and encourage formal, as well as business casual attire when visiting Hy's. Our casually dressed guests feel more comfortable in our bar and lounge, where we often see sporting attire before a local game, or guests stopping in opportunistically to enjoy our happy hour. Great food and service. Lively atmosphere but not too noisy or stuffy. We would highly recommend. The server Ryan was excellent.

Excellent service. Multiple people servicing our table. Very friendly. Food was delicious. Beautiful atmosphere.

The steak was good. A little dry, but okay. Wish there was a side that could give it some flavour. The mashed potatoes were bland - no salt, pepper or butter. Zero flavour. No birthday dessert. Service was okay, but the waiter disappeared at the end of the night.. not sure why he didn’t check on us. Wouldn’t come here again.

Service was very good. a rich decor and simple but pricey menu brought me back to a time when the finer things in life were more appreciated. I brought my younger guest to show her what things used to be like in a era of dark wood, leather, and most importantly classic food. I would have assumed however that a traditional classy upscale steak house like Hy's could have at least done the old classics like jumbo shrimp cocktail and beef wellington better than just...ok.

Everyone at the table thought their steaks tasted amazing. It was a steakhouse so they did their job there. However after being to many steak houses we found that the size of the steaks were smaller than advertised. Caesar salad was ok but not worth the $24 even though made tableside. We asked for the 4 oz of the A5 waygu from the steak section but instead we got two servings of the appetizers instead. Also one server got wrong dessert but chose not to speak up. Overall ambiance was great and staff that greeted us were nice but only half the group were offered coat check. Would go back for the steak however as it was cooked perfect.
