Le Hy's Steak House - Calgary est le petit dernier des restaurants raffinés, le premier Steakhouses du Canada depuis 1955. Cet établissement affiche une décoration moderne avec des lignes épurées et des textures de cuir, de velours, de bois et de pierres, revisitant ainsi le steakhouse classique. Il est également dotée d'une rôtisserie vitrée circulaire permettant de griller des steaks canadiens de qualité sur du charbon de bois. Le bar en forme de fer à cheval est entouré de différents types de coins salon et repas à la fois spacieux et intimes. Le menu propose des recettes classiques et nouvelles.     I've been to a bunch of the steakhouses in Calgary and they all have their ups and downs. Hy's is no different. The vibe inside is way less like other steakhouses and feels more like an upper casual chain. It's very packed and the music was also pretty loud so it felt a little overwhelming in that way. The food, however, is tremendous. We started with Cheese Toast and Caesar Salad (prepped tableside). Cheese toast is definitely some of the best I've had, and the Caesar was hands down top three if not *the* top Caesar I've ever had. Incredibly garlicky! (Our server was Dino. YMMV with other servers.) We shared the bone in ribeye, with mashed potatoes, cauliflower gratin, and roasted broccoli on the side. The steak was tremendous, the cauliflower was amazing (though very very rich. Be prepared.) and the roasted broccoli was exactly what you'd expect. I would say the mashed potatoes were the let down of the night. They just weren't that great. They weren't horrible, but they weren't good. For dessert, we were really at odds. I love cheesecake, and my wife loves chocolate cake. We couldn't decide which to get but we were so full that getting both was off the table. So we left it up to Dino to surprise us, and ended up with the cheesecake. As far as cheesecake goes, it was pretty wonderful.very straightforward but they prepare it with a hint of orange citrus and it brings a real nice little pop of flavour to an already good cheesecake. Other than the atmosphere being a little higher energy than we expected, the only other thing that bugged me was that in a restaurant where you're going to be dropping at least a hundred dollars a person, they charge you $5 for a soda, and then still charge you for refills. (Which wasn't disclosed. I just found the charges on my bill.) That being said, we're still definitely going to go back because these two things aren't enough to remove it from the roster.

    For the record, or dinner at Hy's was amazing. We had high expectations for our special occasion there, and Hy's did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the polite, professional staff. The hosted Paige and our waiter Nikola made sure every detail was taken care of. The table, our drinks and of course the steaks were exceptional. Especially the roasted potatoes and cheese bread. It is not very often you find an establishment that can provide great food service and tradition all together and make you feel it was meant for you. We want to thank Nikola and the entire staff at Hy's. Our experience there was the best we have had in Calgary in a long time. We are already planning to go back, and know we can look forward to everything at Hy's.

    First time visiting myself but my girlfriend had been multiple times. Such amazing food and amazing experiences with exceptional service.

    I gently mentioned that it was our clients birthday and the hostess suggested that HY’s would do something nice. This request was forgotten. I was disappointed about that.

    Average steak. Luke warm mashed potatoes. Not worth the price….could get same meal at Milestones.
