Le Hy's Steak House - Calgary est le petit dernier des restaurants raffinés, le premier Steakhouses du Canada depuis 1955. Cet établissement affiche une décoration moderne avec des lignes épurées et des textures de cuir, de velours, de bois et de pierres, revisitant ainsi le steakhouse classique. Il est également dotée d'une rôtisserie vitrée circulaire permettant de griller des steaks canadiens de qualité sur du charbon de bois. Le bar en forme de fer à cheval est entouré de différents types de coins salon et repas à la fois spacieux et intimes. Le menu propose des recettes classiques et nouvelles. Les spécialités de l'établissement, comme la célèbre salade César et le steak Diane, sont toujours préparés à côté de votre table. Food was excellent and Dino, our waiter was very friendly and helpful, making some great recommendations. Probably my favorite restaurant in Calgary.

I find that my experience has been deteriorating each time I go. This time we were “abandoned” by our server who seemed extremely busy. Despite her attempt to recover, when our food finally came, my wife’s steak was way undercooked, my steak was cold, and therefore all had to be sent back after an hour wait. At the end, there was a large discount on our final bill but I feel I need to look for other steakhouse options. As a result, I cancelled a couple of future reservations I had previously booked. Hopefully Hy’s will find his way back to greatness.

This was our first time at hy’s. It was so outstanding. Dino waited on us and he absolutely made our dinner experience magical. His personality and positive manner was amazing and you are lucky to have him on staff. He made our night. He gave us a tour of the restaurant and made every detail count. We will come back to Calgary just to eat at hys to see Dino. Thanks Dino and look forward to seeing you again.

I reserved a dinner here and made a note that it was for a special occasion (engagement). Our server's name was Dino; he went above and beyond the entire time we were there. He had a polite, friendly, relaxed, and somewhat playful demeanor. He explained the menu well and provided us with the origin story of their amazing cheese toast. I got the beef wellington and my fiance got the 8oz filet; both were amazing but I preferred mine. We didn't want any dessert after but Dino brought us a blueberry sorbet with "Congratulations!" spelled out on the plate, and a butane stove as a makeshift fireplace. He gave my fiance a rose on the way out, a true gentleman. The food was great and the service was exemplary. Never have I been treated so well and had so much fun dining out before. We will be back because of Dino.

The food was spectacular! The service was, if possible, even better. And, finally, we were at the restaurant for almost three hours without any hint that we should leave.

John was our server and he was spot on! So knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and always around when we needed him! The food was amazing. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back!
