Our first time at The Hunt Room. Nice atmosphere, a bit dark for my tastes. They would benefit by putting small candles/lights on each table to help with reading the menu. Our server was excellent - she knew the menu well, and described everything accurately. Some items were fairly priced, others were high. Portions varied, so I would ask if that's important to you. For example, the wedge salad was very nice; the soup of the day (pea soup) was a small portion. Crab cakes were just OK; the lobster mac & cheese, while pricey, was a nice portion and was very good. The cornish hen was a 1/2 hen, which our server pointed out. It was enough for me, but looked rather small in comparison to the generous portion of brussel sprouts and potatoes that came with it. Overall we enjoyed our experience, but don't need to rush back.

Service was good but the food quality was very poor. I was surprised being part of the Cavalier Hotel!

The character and charm aligns well with the rest of the hotel. We came to enjoy the drinks, and the music - TA Gatling was wonderful! Will definitely be back.

We were seated almost immediately with a very polite hostess. Our server, Casey, was excellent. She was there when needed and left us to enjoy our food and drinks. She was very accommodating when we asked her to take our photo since it was our anniversary. Spring roll appetizers were very good-hot and crispy. My husband said his lobster Mac and cheese was really good. My duck-not so much-felt like there was no seasonings and the skin was not the crispness that duck should have. When Casey saw that I didn’t eat much she said she could have gotten me something else. When we got the check we discovered that she removed my dinner-unnecessary, but a very nice gesture.

It is the best restaurant out there me and my wife always make a point to go there when we are in the area

The Hunt Room never disappoints! From the bar staff to the servers, everyone is friendly and courteous. The food is always spot on!

This is our third dining experience at The Hunt Room in less than one year. The appetizers, entrees and signature cocktails are always superb and innovative. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Bronzed Halibut. My fried shrimp platter was exceptional and reminiscent of fried seafood served throughout the Eastern shore of Virginia in years past. Our server Angelina is a real asset to The Hunt Room. Her knowledge of the menu, wine and cocktail pairings are in a class by themselves!! She is very passionate about ensuring her guests enjoy a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend The Hunt Room to anyone visiting Virginia Beach whether it be for business or pleasure.
