Indian food is very colourful, wonderfully fragrant and packed full of glorious flavours. I grew up in Delhi when I was a child - the smells and sights of the street food markets there were simply staggering. A new scent was drifting across the air from every direction; everywhere was glowing and vibrant, and people all around were eating and chattering away.

Delhi is a melting pot of lots of different people from all over India. And so the street food in Delhi is an amalgamation of many different cooking styles from around the country, with some influences from western cuisine thrown in for good measure.

My Indian street food recipes reflect this style and in keeping with tradition, tend to be little snacks and main courses you can eat with your hands.

Food was amazing, service spot on. Only problem is that Hullabaloo doesn’t take reservations from this website

After having to ask twice for some papadums (which came with tiny pots of sauce and tasted bland), we waited for over a hour for food. We asked for more papadums but were told they had run out. After waiting for so long we gave up and walked out paying for all the drinks we had while waiting. (Note the white wine was basically vinegar and the draft beer was flat). We went down the road and had a delicious meal at Mountain View which arrived after 20mins of waiting.

We found this place after spending the day in the nearby Greenwich park and market. We strolled along the high street and saw the vegan sign. I am vegan but my boyfriend isn’t so we checked out menus of a few places before deciding to go in. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We had a few starters, the tofu korma, veg biryani with dal, butter naan (even though I am vegan I had to try and it didn’t disappoint) At the time we were there they had no kulfi (due to stock shortage). Food was excellent, I certainly recommend the tofu korma and the biryani! We will definitely be back.
