Hudson and Essex is the premier restaurant of Mansfield’s rustbelt revitalization. Our sleek elegant space showcases a distinctive menu featuring local purveyors and wine from our own Cypress Hill Winery. Our menu changes with the seasons to keep our food fresh while keeping the customer favorites available all year.

Cypress Hill Winery is a boutique winery located beneath Hudson & Essex in the Carousel District of Mansfield, Ohio that remains loyal to the passion and the art of California wine. Family, friends (new and old), connoisseurs and novices alike are welcome. Join us! We look forward to meeting you.

We moved away for a few years but recently returned to the area. We used to enjoy Hudson & Essex often! We finally made it back today for Sunday brunch and it was as good as we remembered! Varied menu, excellent service and delicious meals! We're glad to be back!

The vibes and ambiance were wonderful, as was the service. We ordered the truffle fries as an appetizer and they were delicious. For our meals, we ordered off the specials - a seafood etoufee and the Korean BBQ ribs. The entrees were both good, not amazing. The cauliflower salad that came with the ribs was not good however, there was a vinegar sauce and it was extremely strong. Additionally, while the restaurant cannot control the other patrons, there was a table who were loudly talking politics (post election). When a manager (maybe owner) walked over to ask about their meal, they continued to talk loudly about politics and it was a giant vibe killer and not what we wanted to hear on a planned night out at an upscale restaurant where we were spending $100+ for our meal.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Every bit of the food was great! We got Crème Brûlée for desert, best we have had so far!

Tried the Haddock Beer Batter Fish on the fall seasonal menu… it was great. My wife had the filet with chive butter mash potatoes. Good as always!

We drove to Mansfield from Cleveland to see the Crow Fest Art show at the Mansfield Art Center. I googled “Best restaurants in Mansfield” and Hudson & Essex came up. WOW, what a great experience in fine dining. The owners came to our table to talk to us and thank us for coming to their restaurant . Reed was our server and was very informative on how the items were prepared and also the history of Hudson & Essex. We will definitely return soon to sample other items on the menu.
