What started as just a counter and a few tables has grown into a place where generations come together to celebrate summer at the Jersey Shore! Famous for the Original French Fried Lobster and award winning chowder, Howard's has been serving Long Beach Island visitors and locals since 1950!

The Lobster bisque was excellent!! My husband had the clam chowder and it was equally delicious! We had the fried lobster and after the soup and salad could have shared it! Service was great! Will definitely come again!

Their signature fried lobster was outstanding. The food and service was great. A little noisy but the restaurant was full. Will definitely come back again.

Everything at Howard’s is phenomenal. Never had a bad meal or experience there.

The French fried lobster has been my husband's favorite meal since he was a teen selling ice cream from a bike in Beach Haven. Of course, where else would we celebrate his retirement from a slightly more professional career almost 50 years later? Some things ARE as good as you remember, even if the price was, um, not quite the same as in 1976!

My wife's meal was fine; lobster bisque and french fried lobster. My broiled seafood combination was just OK. The scallops were rubbery and had little taste. The flounder was overcooked and dried out. Shrimp and crabcake as expected. A dozen top neck clams on the ha;f-shell were fresh and full of briney flavor. Had a 7:30 reservation and didn't see a waitress for 15 minutes. Bussing their own tables and under-staffed even though the place was 3/4 full. For the prices charged I recommend looking elsewhere. We've been dining at Howard's fevery summer or over 30 years and will most likely do so in 2025. Not because it's all that good but because that's what we always do.

The food was mediocre at best. Flounder over cooked , chowder just ok. Over priced. BYO

Food was good but we waited a very long time for service and dinner. Waitress was not very present at our table. Food came out somewhat warm . We are frequent diners at Howard’s. This wasn’t what we were use to.
