What started as just a counter and a few tables has grown into a place where generations come together to celebrate summer at the Jersey Shore! Famous for the Original French Fried Lobster and award winning chowder, Howard's has been serving Long Beach Island visitors and locals since 1950!
Staying true to our family roots while keeping up with culinary trends. Fresh seafood and harbor side dining go hand in hand when you’re on Long Beach Island. At Howard’s, we combine our love of seafood with a charming ambiance to make for a delicious and memorable dining experience.

Howard’s has been one of our favorite LBI restaurants for years! The food and service is always excellent! Many things have changed through the years on the island, but Howard’s has remained a constant delight!

Great food, great service, and the staff was able to accommodate our last minute seating change. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s still one of our favorite restaurants!

Dinner & food as always was wonderful! Love my fried lobster tail treat! It can’t be beat! Service perfect! Was getting VERRY noisy halfway thru dinner! But still a favorite spot!

The French Fried Lobster (which I have many, many times through the years) was over fried, smaller and much more expensive then in the past. I still love it but this might be my last time.

Howard’s never disappoints! Calamari and mussel appetizer were delicious. We are big fans of the crab cakes, fried lobster and the filet mignon! Our server Nick was so attentive and efficient. Great service! We return every year.
