Last night we noticed some new faces working as servers and some who appeared to be managers. We heard from friends that the New Brunswick location of Houlihan's closed and the buzz was that these new people were from that location which was doing poorly and closed last week. We love this place. We've been going there since they opened. We know the regular crowd and we are part of that group. We spend Thanksgiving and Christmas Day there. Regulars like us continued to support Houlihan's as a take-out business all through COVID. It's a neighborhood establishment and many of the employees live nearby. The employees bring their own families there to enjoy drinks and a meal. The regulars have supported Houlihan's of Holmdel because of the people who work there and supervise. The staff we've grown to know is accommodating, friendly and it's obvious they appreciate our business. The managers circulate and greet the customers giving the establishment a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Last night the atmosphere was different. It seemed apparent that change was occurring. I implore you not to replace the existing staff. This is a formula that works from the hosts who greet us at the door to the kitchen staff that prepares our meals. From the managers to the servers and bartending staff, the pieces fit so well together and should be left as is. Houlihan's of Holmdel is special. The community believes in supporting local businesses, a sentimment is expressed at Town Hall and Homeowners Association meetings. For us, Houlihan's of Holmdel is that one-of-a-kind place where we always feel at home. Thank you.

The hostess was extreamly helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Our waiter was very attentive, he gave us the time we needed to choose from your very varied menu. Made good recommendations He always had a smile

Normally don’t eat chicken in a restaurant, but their Tuscany Lemon Chicken is very good. This time I swapped out the chicken with shrimp. It was delicious. Everything I eat at this restaurant is very good, can’t go wrong with anything you order.

From the friendly welcome at the door , additional smile and welcome by Alfredo, our awesome waitress Christine (assisted by Amanda) , and additional bussing staff, our evening out was wonderful! Two in our party ordered appetizers- chicken tortilla soup and Houlihan’s famous Shrooms. Both raved about their choices! For our entrees, three of us ordered prime rib. All agreed that the temperature was perfect and the meat was very juicy , flavorful, and tender. The other two diners ordered scallops and baby back ribs. They were both very pleased with their meals! Again, this restaurant is a neighborhood gem. It was fine dining at a fraction of the cost and an ambiance untypical of most “chain” restaurants. You cannot go wrong with Houlihan’s ! I recommend it highly!

I ordered the same entrees numerous times before, but the portion size was half the size this time. After notifying the server, the manager acknowledged and offered a replacement but came back with almost the same size. I didn't want to wait but will not order the entree again. Not happy!!

Everything was excellent except the A/C, which felt like it was at freezer level!

We stopped to eat at Houlihan's since we're From KC and all the Houlihan's have closed there. The baked potato soup was very good but the rest of the meal was just ok. Not the quality I remember. I think we could have had a better meal at Chilis. I ordered the salmon and my husband had the shrimp pasta. Don't think we'll be stopping at Houlihan's again.😔
