Our first foray into Nebraska is located near the Pinnacle Bank Arena in West Haymarket. We're not a sports bar, but we love sports. Want to watch the game? We've got you covered with 52-inch TVs viewable from most seats. Don't want to watch the game? That's cool too. We keep our music on (almost) all the time. Husker games are the big exception to that rule.

HopCat was founded on the principles of bringing local craft beer a bit closer to the communities we love. We’re known for our award-wining Cosmik fries, which are beer battered, sprinkled with our signature cracked black pepper seasoning, and served with a side of warm cheese sauce. From burgers to tacos, our menu offers a range of delicious options.

Used to be good, but food is pretty mid now, also beer selection sucks now

Food was excellent and delivered timely. The temperature of the venue is cold. Bring a 1/4 zip, sweatshirt, etc. The menu has an excellent selection. The beer menu is vast and has local brews as well. Fun place to eat and hang out.

I have been to HopCat in Lincoln 3 times over the past year (I live out of state). Each time I was served by different servers and hosts. Each time the service was stellar. The staff throughout the place were engaged and smiling and seemed genuinely glad to be there. This is a sign of good onsite management.

The food wasn’t as good as last time. Our server was great and she did say that the food would take awhile since they only had one cook. The fries were great my Ahi Tuna salad was fair. I asked for the tuna to be cooked throughout and it was pink.

The food was okay, drinks were great! I love the atmosphere and the staff was very kind and attentive despite us hearing that they are super understaffed at the moment!

Love their Cosmik fries, but my chicken sandwich was burnt to a crisp. Of course it's loaded under a ton of other things, so I had already eaten half before noticing that one complete side of the chicken was so blackened it was overly tough to even bite through (and it was NOT a blackened chicken sandwich that I ordered). They offered to replace, but the wait time originally for the food was long because they messed up another of our order (out of 5) so I just opted not to get the replacement and ate what I could. I think perhaps it may have been just an off night for the cook, as previously we've not had any issues here. As with every restaurant, prices are high... with appetizers costing what a full meal would a few years ago. And of course, they don't actually pay their wait staff more than 2.35/h and instead rely on customers to supplement that part. Service was great, we had a guy that it was only his 2nd shift serving, so he was very attentive and apologetic towards the burnt food issues. I wasn't given anything off the meal/bill, nor was I expecting it as I ate about 65% of the sandwich and turned down the offer of a replacement. I would recommend the place, just hope the cook has figured out whatever issues he was having that evening.

Service was great. Food & Drinks were good. Great selection for beers. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star was because the bathrooms were awkward and not stocked. Also we were sat right next to the kitchen entry for a birthday reservation.

Hostess attire was atrocious. The lighting made it very hard to see the menu. We were disappointed that now only two samples are allowed, especially with a changing menu. Our waitress was good!
