The original HopCat location is located in a historical building downtown Grand Rapids. Steps from Van Andel Arena, GLC Live at 20 Monroe, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum, our restaurant features a dog-friendly outdoor patio, oversized wooden bar, and comfortable seating.

HopCat was founded on the principles of bringing local craft beer a bit closer to the communities we love. We’re known for our award-wining Cosmik fries, which are beer battered, sprinkled with our signature cracked black pepper seasoning, and served with a side of warm cheese sauce. From burgers to tacos, our menu offers a range of delicious options.

    It was decent bar food and good beer selection. They could not get our food out together and brought a side dish after the appetizer. Nice people, decent food but a little disorganized and definitely more casual than the reviews led me to believe.

    We sat outside and it was very nice. Mainly ordered appetizers. The cosmic fries are a must!!! Good beer selection

    Our server was ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!! A friend and I brought our dogs with us to eat, and for most places it can be very stressful. Our server was super sweet greeted us and every the dogs, said a friendly hello and asked politely to pet them too. When we got our drink order she also brought little tins of water out for our dogs. Overall the places was absolutely amazing! 10/10

    I highly recommend "Hop Cat"! It's SO conveniently located by the Van Andel Arena (330 feet away!), so it's great for anyone attending events there. It's clean, the food and cocktails were wonderful, the ambiance was cool, along with the music, and our server was so sweet and very attentive!

    They were very sweet, I asked for a possible booth if available and was granted one!! Pretty location and welcoming service. Our server Adam was very quick and attentive:)
